And Robert, we probably cross paths many times. Chris, I appreciated your coverage of the tech scene in Hawaii. Traci did a good job of tracking me down. Next time you are in Hawaii, let me know and we can get you hooked up with more tech companies here. We just scratched the surface with that interview. A couple of minor edits, the company I currently work for is HMSA, Hawaii Medical Service Association. The radio show on Hawaii Public Radio is a weekly show every Wed. from 5-6pm. We stream live at http://www.hawaiipublicradio.org. Also our monthly Bytemarks Lunches get announced at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bytemarks/. Thanks again a let's keep in touch. I also worked for Hawaiian Telephone before taking early retirement in 1987. Like Burt, I had some projects in the Pacific Islands. When Hawaiian Tel acquired the Micronesian Telephone Company, I headed the project.to upgrade the telephone system in the Northern Mariana Islands that includes Saipan, Tinian and RotaAfter my first retirement, I worked for a small telephone engineering consulting firm headquartered in Texas. We did telephone system design, engineering and installation supervision projects in the Marshall Islands and Palau.Following the second retirement, I worked part-time for Tropical Island Telecom which was one of the early and very successful hi-tech firms in Hawaii.Although our four daughters and grandchildren all live on the mainland, we decided to remain in Hawaii where I keep busy doing computer repairs and upgrading. Thanks to people like Chris Pirillo, I can keep up with the latest developments in PC technology.

I enjoyed the interview with Burt because we have some things in common. Technology is big as there are significant tax credits provided by the State of Hawaii to entice investment in that sector. The second area that might surprise people is Insurance.
