Everything was running smoothly, until I decided to check and see if Windows had any worthwhile additional updates available to us. So I went through the process of downloading and installing these updates for her desktop and for my laptop. Upon our next restart, our computers did not start up properly and we were forced to run the &#34;Startup Repair Tool&#34; instead of booting up normally. Or, perhaps, has anyone else expressed them to you?</p></blockquote><p>Even though Windows Update does have its share of hiccups, avoiding it is not advisable as the updates it provides can be essential security fixes.</p><p>Should you stay away from updates that are not essential? That&#8217;s totally up to you: if you feel you do not need the functionality that the software provides, then stay away from it. If, on the other hand, the software seems to fit your needs, try to install it.</p><p>Also, if you are going to update more than one machine with this software, you generally want to do it one computer at a time. That way, if one machine fails, you will not have to restore two machines to their previous state.</p><p>What do you think?
