I’ve been blogging since January of 2002, and the archives are still there. Years later, I’ve begun to participate in other places, such as Twitter. Sometimes, I get excellent replies on Twitter, and I wanted a way to be able to extract those replies for my blog. I tweeted about ten days ago that I was looking for a way to do this. Alex, otherwise known as Whozman on Twitter, pinged me to ask what exactly I wanted. And now, without further ado, I introduce you to Twickie!

It honestly is simple. Log in and get a list of your 50 most recent tweets. Or, you can find a specific tweet of yours, and enter the ID number (in red at the end of the twee URL) into the box under the Search tab. Once your replies are display, you can click the Get @ button… and voila! The code is displayed for you. Copy the CSS, HTML or “Full” code and paste it into your blog. If you’re not very familiar with either CSS or HTML, then copy the “Full” code. It will place everything for you on your blog page with nothing additional needed from you!

You can get an idea of how this looks. Earlier today, I tweeted about my favorite Weird Al song. I then took all of those @ replies and extracted them using Twickie. I then created a blog post using that information. How cool looking is that? It’s so easy, and takes literally only minutes. You don’t have to be a code genius to figure it out, even!

That’s pretty much the bottom line. You can now quickly and easily incorporate Twitter responses into your blog. Bwana has done it, as well as Robert Scoble. Why dont you give it a try?
