I get Windows security-related questions all the time. Every five minutes on some days! Everybody wants to know what I think the best software security suite happens to be – and my answer is typically contingent on cost. If you can save money on this stuff, why shouldn’t you? Jesse Hall just asked:

Hey Chris, I’ve been trying to find a good question to ask for a while now, and I’ve been wondering what Security Suites seriously have the best protection. Today I had installed the McAfee Internet Security Suite on my XP machine that runs FTP, Apache and MySql. I’ve heard the good and bad side of this product, but when don’t you in the market? My favorite for XP security, is The Norton Internet Security Suites 2005 and higher. Although my recent switch to Vista on my workstation, hasn’t allowed me to try anything that makes me feel “safe”. Can I get any suggestions, and some of yours and the communities experiences with a few? What’s your favorite? I’m an inactive community member that watches every spare chance. It’s great to see another person in his office most of the time, but anyway thanks!
