Protect Your Data with Sunbelt Personal Firewall

There should be an image here!We know that some of our readers have not jumped to Windows 7 and are staying with their operating systems. For that reason, we want to make certain that some of the best security programs remain available to you. As many Internet users remember, the Kerio Personal Firewall used to be one of the standards of firewall protection. That firewall now is offered by Sunbelt and is called the Sunbelt Personal Firewall.

This firewall remains one of the best security products — not all firewalls are the same. Quality differs and how they function differs. The Sunbelt Personal Firewall offers protection in terms of incoming and outgoing traffic.

In very simple terms, you want a firewall that protects in two directions, and you want to stop unwanted traffic from reaching your computer. In addition, you want to stop some traffic leaving your computer if your security has been breached. Breaches do happen, even with meticulous attention to security. All it takes is an errant click. Further, there is absolutely no security program on the market that gives you a hundred percent protection. Cybercriminals are putting new dangers on the Internet daily. Sometimes, the hackers are a step ahead of the security people.

If you stumble upon a malicious Web site, a self installing malware program might escape detection and install itself. That program could broadcast information from your machine. A good software firewall increases your chances of detecting unusual activity on your machine and lets you know about unusual outgoing traffic.

We have been recommending the Sunbelt Personal Firewall, which fulfills the need for blocking unwanted traffic that is incoming and monitoring what leaves from your machine.

Outgoing information may be your confidential data, which might set you up as a victim of identity theft. It could be that your computer has been compromised and is now a part of a bot operation — perhaps used for spamming. A good firewall, which monitors the outgoing traffic, will give you an additional chance at catching some infection that already has occurred on your machine.

This offers expires on March 2, 2010. The Sunbelt Personal Firewall is really a gift at ten dollars. Yes, it is only ten dollars when you use this link and the coupon code SPFLOCKERGNOME when you place your order.

At this price, the Sunbelt Personal Firewall is affordable and a bargain. This firewall currently supports Windows XP and Vista and is being modified for Windows 7.

Many Gnomies have used this firewall for years. Sunbelt is offering this security program for about the price of a medium pizza. It is a great investment and money well spent, and we thank Sunbelt for the generous offer to our readers.

What does it Take to Drive Traffic to your Videos?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

I recently uploaded a one-minute video of my laughing hysterically. In three days’ time, that video has had over 10,000 views on YouTube, and received more than 300 comments. What does it take to generate this kind of traffic? Jeff sent me an email recently, asking me what tips and tricks there are to get content to the top of search engines?

There is no one silver bullet, there are many things you can do. Not all of them will necessarily lead you down the path to success… in terms of views, attention and meeting your goals. I’ve written down three points to answer this. These are things I believe are applicable to everyone who is producing content online. Make sure you just be yourself, that is the most important.

  • Survey the landscape.
  • Use the resources at your disposal.
  • Embrace, empower and extend the community.

For years, you had to rely on your own devices to create content and find a place for that content to exist. These days, with the advent of sites like YouTube, it’s much simpler. I produce a Podcast that can be downloaded onto an MP3 player. I know that the greater impact would be experience on YouTube, more than anywhere on the Internet. In surveying the landscape a few years ago, I realized I needed to start driving my content to YouTube. I didn’t quit my blog … I simply learned to drive traffic to the video site, to learn more about me and what I do. I knew I would get a greater amount of return with video than with written word.

The most important thing is to embrace, empower and extend the community. One of the reasons it is crucial for me to have chat inside the videos that I do is my chat room is the closest thing I have to a live studio audience. The interaction and personal exchange between the chat members adds so much to what I do. It’s all about the community. It’s a connection, whether informative or fun. By connecting with others on many different levels, you will be able to reach out wider and further, driving more traffic to yourself. Don’t treat people like they are some remote foreign object. Treat them as though they are a very important part of your life. Let’s face it… if you’re trying to gain a following, they ARE important to you.

Have you Ever Gone to Court?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

I recently did a video with tips from a police officer on how to get out of a traffic ticket. Here are GTPeach’s tips on what to do, should you ever have to go to court.

  • Nolo contendre (or no contest) is your friend. This best friend of new people allows for a person to plea nolo 1 time every few years (varies depending on state). This plea is a compromise. You pay the fine, but it won’t go on your record and your insurance will never see it, which means no points. And after all, that’s what most people don’t want.
  • Defensive driving. Take this class. When you complete it, you can do seevral things with it. You can send it to your insurance company and they will usually give you a discount for having taken the class. You can also take it to the DMV (Dept. of Motor Vehicles) and they will automatically remove 5 points from your license.
  • Talk to the solicitor/prosecutor before the case is tried. A lot of them work with you, especially if you don’t have a huge record. They’ve been known to knoc recklesses down a bit. Also, a lot of times for speeding, if you are just a few MPH oevr a cutoff (especially those of you that are so close to 21 but not quite therE) they will trade you community service or defensive driving for a reduced speed, which will allow you to keep your license. It’s worth trying to make a deal because the worst that could happen is a no.
  • Along similar lines, bargain even when you know there’s no deal on reducing speed or dropping tickets. If you have a suspended icense, for example, all hope is not lost. Most times, they will give you a provisional license if you ask for it. This allows you to drive to and from work, school, and religious activities. It isn’t a full license, it usually has a curfew, and if you’re caught going to and from anywhere but those placeas you’re totally busted and won’t be allowed to drive, but that type of license is better than nothing, especially if you have bills to pay.
  • Know your state times. For instance, know how many years it takes to have something disappear from a record, how many points you can accrue before your license is suspened, how many years you have to wait before ebign allowed to plea nolo again. Also, know age limitations. If you’re under 21, a bnolo plea will do you very little good because they are required to report those cases, so you might want to save it for a rainy over 21 day.
  • Goes without saying – Don’t Be Dumb!! If you drink and drive you DESERVE to be off the road!!! Get a designated driver or call a cab!

Chest-based Word Clouds Work

Put your word/prhase on Rent My Chest before it’s taken by somebody else. You gotta like testimonials like Linda’s:

I’ve been waiting for someone to come up with a fun, unique spin on the “sell a word” craze… I just bought AFFILIATES… Checking out Alexa I already see a huge spike in traffic and the new word cloud upgrade just launched. I’ll give Chris a little plug – go check it out, it’s pretty cool!

Sweet. My chest drives traffic!
