I had a little TOO much fun playing with the new I Am T-Pain app for my iPad. Created by our friends at Smule (the Glee app creators!), this little nugget is going to amuse you for many hours. Hey, singing the things my chat room said back to them kept THEM entertained.

• The App bundles several of T-Pain’s top songs including Bartender and I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper), complete with lyrics, integrated Auto-Tune settings, and timings.
• The App includes many previously unreleased T-Pain original beats.
• Get five brand spankin’ new beats from the hottest producers every Thursday at 3pm. The first 100 to download them get them for free!
• Use Auto-Tune with your existing iTunes library.
• You can select the Freestyle option and use Auto-Tune for singing without companion tracks. Use this option if you simply want to send someone an Auto-Tuned greeting over email .

This app is seriously a LOT of fun, and you can spend hours creating some seriously cool tracks. Upload them to the app maker’s site and share them with the world.

Does Auto-Tune Turn You into T-Pain?

The brand-new Magic Fiddle iPad app from Smule is going to make your fingers want to fly. You’ll be able to quickly pick up and play songs simply by following colored lights in the Songbook. You don’t need to have any previous musical training to learn how to pick like a pro.

You’ll learn all of the best string skills, such as how to bow, pluck, trill, vibrato and glissandi right on your iPad. Your fiddle takes you on a fun learning adventure with your Storybook. The book is an 8-chapter journey which teaches you different tricks and techniques. You’ll find full-color illustrations and step-by-step instructions to guide you along the way.

Once you feel you’ve mastered a skill or song, you can show off your talents by competing for the high score on the global leaderboards. Play to your heart’s content to earn scores and medals for each song. Your best performances combine to give you your global high score.

You can easily share your favorite performances, listen to what others have come up with and even “like” their creations on the Smule social board. Meet people from all over the world who are interested in music as much as you are.

You may remember the video review I did awhile back of the Ocarina for the iPhone. It was very cool to meet those responsible for this great ‘instrument’ at Macworld recently.

One of the guys was able to blow the “Legend of Zelda” theme using the Ocarina. How cool is that? No way I could ever do something like that. He’s really REALLY good, as well. They now have five Apps in the app-store. They are:

• Ocarina – Ocarina is the first true musical instrument created for the iPhone. Ocarina is sensitive to your breath, touch and movements, making it even more versatile than the original.
• Zephyr – Swish your fingers across a snowy landscape to create your unique story. Zephyr magically translates your touch and movements into distinctive wind sounds to complement your written message.
• Sonic Vox – Tired of your same old voice? Seeking a little vocal variety? With Sonic Vox you can alter your voice with a swipe of your finger.
• Sonic Boom – Sonic Boom turns your phone into a virtual firecracker and uses your finger as a virtual match. Strike the match, ignite the fuse, wait… boom.
• Sonic Lighter – Sonic Lighter can be used to ignite other combustible applications running on the iPhone, including the recently released Sonic Boom from Smule. Blow out the flame with your breath, tilt it sideways, or change the size with the pinch of your fingers.

As I was recording the video, another person walked up and asked what the heck that thing is. We explained that you just blow into the iPhone’s built-in microphone, and use your fingers on the “holes” on the Ocarina app. That’s all there is to it. It sounds easy, I know – but it’s not. It takes a heck of a lot of practice to be able to pull off Zelda, that’s for sure.
