It&#8217;s not some secret code, and it actually goes back a very long way.</p><p>Years ago I was on a radio show on WHO 1040 in Iowa. I hosted a tech broadcast on Saturday afternoons, which ended up being quite popular. On my first day, I kept thinking to myself that I needed some sort of snazzy sign off or ending for the show, instead of just saying &#8220;see ya next time&#8221;. Out popped <strong>&#8220;E ya later!&#8221;</strong>. I&#8217;m not sure still if that was something I consciously came up with, or if it just came out of nowhere. No matter&#8230; I began signing off every week that way.</p><p>When I moved to TechTv, I took that saying with me. I decided since it was an audio sign off, I should add something visible to it as well&#8230; so my 3 finger salute was born with it. Holding up the first three fingers is a geek sign standing for <a
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control-Alt-Delete">Ctrl-Alt-Del</a>. I stopped doing this for awhile when I started doing these live videos.</p><p>There&#8217;s a community member at large who goes by the handle &#8220;CoffeeHouseShmuck&#8221;. I think he comments on pretty much every blog post I make, and I love it. His thoughts are always good, and written very well. A couple of months ago, he asked in a comment why I don&#8217;t use this phrase anymore. So&#8230; I brought it back. Since so many of you newer subscribers keep asking what it means and where it came from, I thought I&#8217;d fill you in.</p><p>That&#8217;s all there is to it! Really!
