I’ve done videos about the Nintendo DS, the Sony PSP, and even the iPhone. I’m not a gamer, even though I like to play games. I also love gadgets and gizmos as you know. I have here a portable device that allows you to play games, record your voice, watch video and even comes with a calendar! I bet you’re wondering now what it is, aren’t you?

The Wiz lets you run Atari ST games, Commodore 64, NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, NeoGeo, Flash Games and more too numerous to mention. The Wiz can do a host of other useful things besides gaming. It can play video files including MPEG4, Xvid and DIVX. You even get a built-in e-book reader!

The Wiz does not come with any emulator software or game roms pre-installed. When you first unbox the Wiz, you can play the built-in Flash games, but that’s all. You have to download the free emulator for the console or system you want to emulate. Then you have to unzip the software for it and copy it to an SD card. Don’t forget to include some game roms, or you’ll have nothing to play!

If you want bragging rights, let your friends pull out their PSP or DS. You can whip out a Wiz and play something that is totally over the top. You know you want one! You have to have it!!

Tetris is my favorite game of all time. I still love buying new versions to play on just about any platform. I recently discovered that Tetris is finally online – in an official capacity! Tetris Friends is a website that allows you to play your favorite game – and mine! – for free.

You don’t have to register to play, but registering gives you a lot more benefits, such as being able to earn Tokens. Use Tokens to unlock more Tetris games and accessories. Most accessories are little enhancements to your playing experience, such as new Mino and Ghost designs.

There are several different game modes, both of the single and multi-player variety. Each game offers a fresh twist to the world’s most popular puzzle video game. You can create a profile for yourself if you choose, share your scores with others, and even have a chance to land yourself on the site Leaderboard.

I still remember the first night I played Tetris on the old Nintendo NES. I was Tetrisized. That’s what they called it! It’s where you close your eyes, and can still see the game. I was hooked from day one – all those years ago.

Tetris Friends is totally worth it… SO AWESOME! I will be playing Tetris until the day I die. Actually, I hope I’m playing Tetris when I die! I love it that much.

Once again, my friend Michelle is helping me out by playing a game and reviewing it for me! She’s a gamer – and we all know I am not. Michelle is an RPG fan. She says that Lux-Pain isn’t so much an RPG as it is more of a storyline-based game. You don’t get to go where you want to go, as you would in a traditional RPG.

The story is interesting, in that it has to do with your world, and a separate world. You go around different areas, meeting different characters, and figure out what’s going on with the storyline. Your character has superpowers, allowing him/her to see if there’s something weird going on with other characters.

Michelle really likes the fact that she can use her superpowers on the “wronged” characters to try and erase the bad spirit, uncovering even more of the storyline. With much of the game looking like Anime, she says that people who are into that genre will definitely get into the game quickly.

The game is more of a mystery story, rather than one where you would collect armor and change your character. You will mostly go around collecting spirits and such, gaining experience, at the beginning.

If you’re a fan of this type of game, you’ll enjoy this game quite a lot I think. It’s very different from what most people think of when they think of an RPG, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun! If you like getting into storylines, then Lux-Pain is for you!

I’m having so much fun playing with the Korg DS10, a cartridge available for the Nintendo DS. If you’ve ever wished you had a Tenori-ON to play with, you’ll be interested in this game! It will provide hours – even days – worth of fun!

The Korg DS10 lets you create your own unique sounds with tons of on-screen controls, or by starting with a template. With two synth parts and four synth/drum parts, you can create both synth and drum lines!

One of the coolest features is the multi-player mode. Up to eight people can connect via the wireless link to perform as a group. Each Korg DS10 can be played as its own instrument or they can be given a part to create an entire band. This lets you create an unlimited amount of applications.

Additionally, people who have created new riffs and songs can exchange their session data with other users. It’s even possible to send session data in advance to your friends, so you can all play together!

What more could you ask for? Hours of interactive (or on your own) fun. The only limit is your own imagination.

Here we go – the Nintendo DSi! I unboxed it prior to recording the video, because my live audience couldn’t wait. My first impression is very positive, because I really like the matte finish. It’s nice and light, which means it’s quite portable.

There are two cameras on the Nintendo DSi. I took a very nice picture with the front-facing camera. It’s very Wii-ish… the sounds, the UI and the touch screen.

When I was playing with the camera, I was having a lot of fun. You can play with the image dynamically before you even take the photo, and of course edit it after if need be. You can distort the image in real-time before ever taking the snapshot. You can take pictures using either the inward or outward facing camera and chose from 11 different lenses to customize your shots

I love the sounds and the visuals. The number one reason I would recommend the Nintendo DSi over the regular DS is the simple fact that everything just sounds and looks so great.

You can download exclusive games, clocks and calendars via the Nintendo DSi Shop. If you register online, you get like 1000 points to use, as well as a few free games! Nintendo DSiWare games and applications will be available at a range of values, starting at 200 points.

Overall, I am already in love with my DSi. The UI is great, even if the Internet connectivity isn’t thus far (at least on my connection). Give me your own thoughts on the DSi, or any other gaming system that you prefer.

Ponzi decided to record my first attempt at exercising with our new Wii Fit. The crowd roaring at my attempts was an added bonus. Someone isn’t thinking properly, though. Who says I’m “unbalanced”?! That’s not true! I’m perfectly balanced… or am I?

Wii Fit is a video game developed by Nintendo for the Wii console. An exercise game, Wii Fit consists primarily of exercise activities utilizing the Wii Balance Board peripheral.
The balance board measures a user’s weight and center of gravity. The software can then calculate their body mass index when told the user’s height. The game has roughly 40 different activities, including yoga poses, push ups, and other exercises. Furthermore, Wii Fit allows its players to compare their fitness by using Wii Fit’s own channel on the Wii Menu.
Wii Fit tracks a user’s “Wii Fitness Age” through a body test basing the result on the user’s current age, weight, and balance.

I am going to keep using Wii Fit, as it definitely does what it claims to. After an hour, I’m sweating, my muscles are sore — I’ve exercised. And I’ve set some personal-best records, and maybe unlocked some new games. It’s fun. The hardware is a great idea — I just think the software could be worlds better. Luckily, since Nintendo seems to be trying to get third parties on board (cough), I bet we’ll see a better virtual-exercise-regimen game before too long.

How much easier can getting into better shape be? This is a fun way to get healthier, so why not give it a try?

Ponzi recently went out and bought Wii Fit. She decided I needed to set up my own profile, so I decided to let all of you watch. Apparently, I have an excellent center of balance! So what do you think? Am I sexier than the Wii Fit Hula Hoop Girl?

I know a lot of you still love playing Duck Hunt when you have the chance. It’s hard to find the game, or the things you need to play it. I wonder how long it’ll be before Nintendo releases Duck Hunt for the Wii. After all, they have a Zapper now! I bought one of these recently for Ponzi, because she loves to play ‘gun games’.

The Wii Zapper will bring together your Wii Remote and Nunchuck into one cool device. You can use the Nunchuck to steer, and the Remote to zap whatever needs to be destroyed. The Zapper is simple to put together. All you need to do is slide your Wii Remote above the trigger, and then put the Nunchuck on the back… and you’re off!

The Zapper comes with Links Crossbow Training. This is a great game, and one of the first ones I was addicted to. Since the game is included, you can start Zapping immediately. I’m a fan of Nintendo. I’m a fan of zapping things. And now.. I’m a fan of the Wii Zapper.

The debate is over. People have asked me every day in the chat room which of these is better. Is it Sony… or Nintendo. I am here to tell you the final answer, and why.

PSP is the winner. It’s better for one reason, and only one reason. The PSP can play UMDs. The DS cannot. Let me show you. I pulled the UMD out of the Sony. There is no slot in the Nintendo DS for it. It won’t work or go in!!! Thankfully there is a slot on the PSP for my UMD.

If Sony wants any kind of share of the market, they have to design their products to accept the UMDs. I mean, seriously. Shame on you Nintendo.

You know, the Wii is addicting… even without loading up a single game. I have discovered all kinds of cool things you can do. Did you know you can get the local weather… right on the Wii?

The music on the Weather part of the Wii literally makes me want to sleep. It is quite soothing, yes. However… *yawn*. However, if you’re a Weather freak… you’d want to buy a Wii just to have this feature alone. I truly enjoy all Weather things. The Wii Weather is very very cool. It has an excellent interactive capability. I can easily check the UV Index, the current forecast, forecasts from other countries… etc. It’s easy to check weather from other areas. I use the WiiMote to literally “grab” the screen (much like with Google Maps), and drag the map around.

This channel allows you to access local weather forecasts after turning on the Wii console. When connected to the Internet, the Wii automatically updates weather information from your local area and around the world. Use the Wii Remote to spin the globe and view weather reports from across town or across the planet!

Now that I’m finding my way around on my new Wii, I am having a great time discovering everything I can do with it. Did you know, for example, that you can get your local news… right on your Wii? I haven’t even played a video game yet, because I’m too entranced by everything else it can do. I found out about getting my weather on the Wii… and now I’ve connected to the news!

Part of the news feature on the Wii is something I could run 24/7 on my screen. This way I could look over at any given time to catch the latest headlines. The Wii displays the news in a very dynamic way. I can go in and dive into a specific area of the news if I choose… such as World news, local news, Technology or even Life. I can simply go in there, and view the newest headlines in that particular section.

Internet Channel changes the way you surf the net forever. No more hunching over your computer. Just download the Opera browser for just 500 Wii Points and within minutes, you’ll be a professional sofa surfer, pointing-and-clicking your way around the web with your Wii Remote. Opera supports Adobe Flash and JavaScript so you can even watch movies on your favorite video sites!
Control the Internet Channel with your Wii Remote. Scroll through sites with either the +Control Pad or the B Button and click on a link by pointing to it and hitting the A Button. Text too small? Video too big? Zoom in and out of the browser with the + (plus) and – (minus) Buttons.

A few months ago, I had a bit of fun with an Open Source utility called MacSaber. I remember hearing someone saying that the WiiSaber had come along, causing the same sound effects. The WiiSaber author is the same one who created the MacSaber program I had so much fun with. Being a huge Star Wars and Luke Skywalker fan, I HAD to try this!

By the way… did you know Luke Skywalker himself is a Pirillo fan? Mark Hamill… you know you want to play WiiSaber with me.

The Wii is finally unboxed, set up and turned on. I press the “A” button to sync the Wiimote with the console. Time to choose the language, and set the date. Let’s walk through the rest of the setup now. Of course, I had to name the machine the GnomeWii. My Mii had to be called “MiniWii.

I think I had a bit too much fun setting up my Mii. I went with spiky hair, bushy eyebrows, an Italian nose, and gorgeous eyes. I even made myself smile, and added my glasses. There are a ton of options to choose from when setting up your Mii.

Setup is really easy. I have to give Nintendo credit for making it exceedingly simple to connect everything, and get started.

I’m in the middle of unboxing my Nintendo Wii – a full year or more after everyone else unboxed theirs. I think I’m the last Geek on Earth to have one. The packaging on this thing is really cool, and was fun to play with. I didn’t go out and buy a ton of games, as I’m only a casual gamer. It did, of course, come with the Wii Sports Disc. I’m looking forward to playing baseball and such.

Wii is not just a gaming console, it’s a reason to get together with your friends and family and play today’s hottest games. Wii offers legendary Nintendo franchises like Mario, Zelda and Metroid, as well as all new classics like Wii Sports and Wii Play. Create your own Mii character to star in Wii games. Play friends online over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or use the Internet Channel to surf the net from your sofa. You can even download classic Nintendo games using the Wii Shop Channel. Take a look around and see why your TV is not complete without Wii.

With the Wii craze in full swing, many of you are of the “gotta have it!” mindset. You truly don’t need every attachment, gadget and gizmo made for your Wii. Here are some tips to keep in mind when shopping for your accessories.

Extra Controllers The number one problem Wii owners have is when they have company over, there are never enough controllers to share. Buy at least one extra pair so you can take turns.
SD Cards All of my fellow Wii Owners have trouble keeping their games in memory, because the Wii only has about 512mb internal memory. This is also a great way to keep your Virtual console games from clogging your Wii.
Official Straps I cannot stress this enough! I always find Wii owners who bought a silicone jacket for the Wii using novelty 3rd party Straps. These straps are weaker than the original launch straps, so if you swing your Wii Mote hard it probably will break… or you could end up needing a new tv.
VC Games Since the Wii is still crawling with its Game Library, there are tons of Classic games from Sega, Nintendo and the TurboGraf. Just buy a Wii point card and you’ll have the classics you love on one System.
Classic Controllers Some games just are not meant for the Wii Mote and Nunchuck, like fighting games. Many games are going to start letting you use a classic controller instead. Buy one so you don’t look like a fool passing out from playing Mortal Kombat.
