I was fortunate to have my mom with me during Mother’s Day this year. I gave her an iPod, which is kind of funny. Up until now, she’s never wanted one. She had no idea how they worked, nor if she’d ever use the thing. She took it into an Apple store with her, and explained she had no clue what to do. They talked in circles around her about syncing and such. She walked out more confused than when they started.

Today while looking around our community, I came across an excellent write-up on Geeks regarding Mother’s Day. The author lists reasons he is thankful for his Mom. I can identify – and agree – with many of those reasons, and I’m sure come up with others! Don’t forget to honor or remember your Mom tomorrow during Mother’s Day in the US. Show her you love and appreciate her, even if you cannot buy a gift. Sometimes just a hug and spending time with her is all she could ever want, anyway.

If you’re like me, you have a birth mother. Now some people’s proper mothers may not be their birth mothers, but that doesn’t make the mother (or mothers) who raised you any less motherly. Americans celebrate having a mother on the second Sunday in May. This weekend is approaching fast, so you’d better have your duckies in a row if you intend on keeping Mom happy. If you were borne of something other than a mother, then… you don’t have to worry about Mother’s Day at all.
