Do not write in “text language.” It is hard to read and you look like an idiot who can’t take the time to spell out words. For example, don’t use: Yo, c u l8r ily!
Do not send short text messages like “ok”, “hey”, “no”…ect. Most people don’t have unlimited text messaging. Because if you send someone something like hey, they send back hey, then you say how was your day, they say great, they say how was your day, You just wasted 5 text messages. Say something more like “Hey, how was your day?” Also, don’t send “No-end texts.” There the kind were someone says “Hahaha.” you have no idea what to say next. Think when you’re texting like you are having a real conversation, face to face.
Don’t send forwards. They drive people crazy! Forwards are the messages that say, “If you don’t send this to 345 people in 2 hours, the little girls spirit will haunt your for life.” Are you really going to believe that?
Don’t do anything on your phone that you can do on your computer! Don’t download songs, check your email and all that other web stuff when you can do it on your computer! You will end up paying a whole lot of money on data charges. Its not that pretty when you get your bill and you see you owe 70 bucks in data charges or more!
Last but not least, don’t sign up for all the “Text message Alert” features you get everywhere. Before you know it, your bill will have you paying $100 for all those texts! Just look at it online at your computer. Its also a waste of time for you checking all those texts. Stop being glued to your phone and explore the world.

During the GoToMeeting, racedude showed us the Alpha version of the new Trillian Astra. There are some very cool new features and enhancements.

Trillian Astra is a free program that integrates all your instant messaging applications into one program. It cuts out the need to have several different programs running all at once. Not only does Trillian Astra integrate your instant messengers, it also provides instant access from anywhere, and allows you to showcase the real “you”… via a dynamically updated instant profile.

So what’s new in Trillian? For starters, the skin and colors are completely different. The look and feel of the application itself is just unlike any previous version. There are many themes and color schemes to choose from, and now they can be changed inside of the program without having to restart it!

The contact list is much more organized and detailed. You can easily manage your contacts and widgets using the easy interface, instead of having to use a wizard like the old versions.

The message window has dramatic changes to it. There is a drawing mode, pause during file transfer capability, instant knowledge bar, and much more.

Lastly (but NOT least), the overall performance has improved. Between loading multiple plugins, parsing and initializing XML-driven skins, and establishing connections to your IM accounts, the time it takes to fully load Trillian has a tendency to decay over time. We’ve improved performance across the board when loading Trillian to eliminate the needless “wait time” between launching the application and actually using it.

We took Ponzi’s car in to get an enema this morning, leaving us with an hour of free time to grab a bite to eat down the street. Few restaurants (in the area) were open at 10:30am, but Hurricane Cafe is open 24 hours a day. Turns out, they’ve got an amazing menu. What’s more, since they cater to a younger crowd (at all hours), they’ve hung a plasma TV above the bar – pictured here. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll read: “txt H2 + a message to 87884″ (go ahead, try it). Seconds after sending your text, you’ll see it bouncing around with the other messages on-screen. Even if you’re not there, the people who ARE there will see your message. Too freakin’ cool!

I had problems using it with my Smartphone at first (not having a subject area, I just needed to insert H2 and a space before typing my text message). As such, I received a few bounces: “Sorry, Wiffiti did not recognize your screen ID.” Dude, check it out – the Hurricane screen is online! What’s more, Wiffiti has a blog. I want one of these hanging on my wall. Had you heard about Wiffiti before? You gotta see it to believe it. I’ll take some txt soup to go!
