If you hear music playing in the background of this video, it’s a video game. We were getting ready for Gnomedex when this was recorded, and Maryam Scoble was here playing the game. She really wants one of these game arcades, but Robert is a meanie and won’t get her one! So anyway, I’m planning to give away some software tonight. The Mac Bundle Box was given away, courtesy of my friend Christian.

The Mac Bundle Box is 15 total Mac applications bundled together, for a cost of only $49.95. That is an amazing savings over buying each of them separately. Christian, Kat and I decided to run this contest a bit differently. All you had to do was reply to that blog post with a comment, telling us what your three favorite Mac Apps are, and why you love them. Of course, you also had to be present in chat to win.

FearedBliss was the person chosen randomly from the people who commented in the blog. He’s a regular chat member, which we always love to see happen! Congratulations, FearedBliss, and thanks for hanging out with us all the time!

We’re planning to do a software giveaway every week, so stay tuned! We’ll be giving away both Mac and Windows software in upcoming weeks, so you definitely don’t want to miss it.

Would You Like to Win Mac Software?

Not long ago, I did a write-up about the Mac Bundle Box. With the Bundle, you get 15 apps for the Mac for only $49.95! It’s one heck of a deal.

Now, thanks to our friend Christian, we are giving one of these away here… live… Wednesday evening, August 20th. Yep, you heard me right. We’re giving this away! Kat will be here for Gnomedex, and she will be helping me with this one.

So what do you have to do to win!? It’s quite simple.

Own (or use) a Mac, of course. These programs aren’t designed for Windows. Don’t worry, we’ll be doing plenty more giveaways very soon that Windows people can enter!

I don’t know why, but I’ve always been in love with software. I’m an addict, I admit it. I currently have 568 separate items sitting inside my Apps folder in OS X. When I find something I like, I hold onto it. I never know when I might need it again. Whether you’re addicted to software or not, I bet you love to save money on your programs. When I was approached about promoting Mac Bundle Box, I jumped at the chance.

While it’s not available just yet, but will be on August 1st. I’m sure you’ve heard of or bought other software bundles in the past. You can pick and choose a small amount of apps and save a load of money. That’s sort of what’s going on here. You’ll be able to get 15 programs, for only $49.95. They total over $300.00 in value. Dream Capture is a utility that connects to your webcam and allows you to record audio and video. It’s simple and straightforward, and easy to use.
Headline is brand new. It’s a full-featured feed reader, with an ultra-minimal UI.
Mac Pilot 3 is a utility that has it all when it comes to optimizing Mac OS X.
iConquer is a great game. If you’ve ever played the game of Risk, you’ll love this. It has amazing graphics.
Mahjong Forests is a favorite of mine. I love Mahjong, so I’m really looking forward to playing this.
Shoebox Express is a solution for organizing all your photos by content.
Caboodle is a way to collect random snippets of text or images on your machine. It’s a great way to organize chaos on your desktop.
Narrator is a program that will read out stories in multiple voices. You can take a series of text, and choose a voice to read it all.
WriteRoom is distraction-free writing. You can run this and do your work, while avoiding all the distractions on your computer.
Scribbles is a simple drawing utility for the Mac that is easy to use.
Money is an Accounting app for OS X. It has a great user experience and interface.
Operation is an easy software choice to help you manage projects. It’s clean, and feels like a native app.
Aurora is basically an alarm clock with a buttload of options.
Compositor is bascially an image editor. It has many features comparable to PhotoShop.
Sofa Control allows you to control your applications remotely.

I’m excited to have this sneak peek, and to make sure all of you are ready to save a bundle of money. If even one of these apps is something you want to buy, why not spend just a little extra to get all fifteen? Mac Bundle Box… keep an eye on it. It will go live at some point on August 1st, 2008.
