The most submersible watercraft built to date is the new Seabreacher X, boasting a 260hp supercharged engine. This little engine that does propels the dolphi-inspired vessel to a top surface speed of 50mph and 25mph below. This craft is not only super-fast and innovative, it’s also dead sexy.

The Seabreacher X can perform a high-speed dive and then launch itself completely out of the water without breaking a sweat. The new thrust system mimics the tail movements of sharks and dolphins while the custom exhaust system gives the machine a throaty growl as it prowls across the water.

You’ll find high tech features such as a snorkel-mounted video camera which can transmit live video to the pilot and passengers during a dive, GPS navigation and an on-board stereo system with an iPod docking station. An owner can even specify which color they prefer for the interior decor.

There will only be ten of these little beauties built. I haven’t bothered to look up the proposed cost because I’m fairly certain it would give me a heart attack. The geek inside of me is demanding that I somehow get close to this dream machine. Perhaps when I win the lottery and buy a yacht I will grab one of these as a complimentary accessory. Until that day, I will satisfy my lust for high-tech water devices with a Kayak.

Geeks Getting Out and About

Yes, it’s true. I have yanked myself out from behind my monitors, and have been venturing out around the town recently! I have been attending a few local meet-ups, as well as some other fun social gatherings. Who knew I could enjoy something like that!?

I’m not a rock concert kind of guy. I don’t enjoy going to “bars” or dance clubs. I prefer a smaller, quieter settings, where people can actually laugh and talk. Coffehouses are awesome, and so are the mom-and-pop type of pubs. I’ve even been seen out on the lake in a kayak at one point!

It’s not so bad pulling yourself away and getting out. Broadening your horizons is always a good thing. You can expand your knowledge and open your eyes to new perspectives when you meet other people. I know, I know – being online or playing your favorite game is fun! But it can be fun to go outside sometimes, too! I promise it won’t hurt.

What kinds of things do you like to get out and do when you’re not in your office or in front of a screen? Where do you like to hang, and what makes an evening out enjoyable for you?

Never fear, young grasshoppers… I didn’t forget about the community! Even though I was gone much of the day, I still had more than enough time to read what you’re all busy posting! Keep the great forum discussions and blog posts coming!

The weather was gorgeous, and the ride wasn’t as bad as I feared. I had a really good time, and will likely go again one day.

Once I returned home, it was back to work for this boy. There’s much to accomplish, people to talk to, and posts to read! Even though it was a gorgeous summer Saturday, many of you took the time to post on the various blogs and forums on both Lockergnome and Geeks. Here are some things that I found interesting, and wanted to share with all of you.
