Text can be fun, really! On its own, it’s boring of course. But when you do creative things with it, it becomes fun. And when you can share it with others, it becomes fun for everyone! At Flip My Text I can do all kinds of fun and wacky things with words.

Are you sick of people not paying enough attention to what you write? A few flipped words here and there will act like speed-bumps in your ramblings, turning rapid scanners into much more thoughtful readers – you’ll be doing them a favor!
A few judicious upside down words will label you as being dangerously different in an increasingly homogeneous online world. You’ll be taking a stand against mediocrity and carving out a little piece of cyberspace as your very own; in effect, saying, “This is my space!”
Even though it’s really easy to use our tool to create flipped text, most of your readers won’t know that. They’ll become google-eyed as they stare at your mysterious words, slowly deciphering the true meaning. There’s absolutely no doubt they’ll be thinking, “This must have been created by a very intelligent, delicious-looking person, I think I would like to meet him or her for a romantic interlude.”

Meet Big Mac… or at least the box in which Big Mac sits. It arrived today, and I am officially making my move away from Windows as my primary Operating System. It won’t be a perfect transition, of course.

I’ve been living inside the world of Windows and Mac for awhile now. With the arrival of Big Mac… I will be flip flopping. I will be primarily using the Mac, and running Windows inside of a VM.

I don’t know of any better way to initiate this change, other than to play this song. I’m sure I’ll get into trouble for this, but I just have to do it…

Music for 2001 Space Odyssey begins to play in the background… nice and loud… as I embrace the box at the end of the song.

Think about that person in your class or office who makes you crazy. Wouldn’t it be great to annoy the heck out of them, without even having to be in the room? Thanks to the folks at ThinkGeek, you can. There are like 1 million ways to annoy people, and I think I’ve used about 991,627 of them. This is now number 991,628. Ponzi will be so excited.

The Annoy-A-Tron would be useless against an army of Snowbots, but it’s very effective at disturbing that guy in the sales department or your “friend” down the hall. With its thin design and embedded magnet for easy hiding, the Annoy-a-tron can be placed in a variety of locations. Select one of the three sound choices (2 kHz, 12 kHz, or alternating) and push the switch to the on position. Place it in a proper hiding spot and let the “fun” begin.

The Annoy-a-tron generates a short (but very annoying, hence the name) beep every few minutes. Your unsuspecting target will have a hard time ‘timing’ the location of the sound because the beeps will vary in intervals ranging from 2 to 8 minutes. The 2kHz sound is generically annoying enough, but if you really really want to aggravate somebody, select the 12 kHz sound. Trust us. The higher frequency and slight ‘electronic noise’ built into that soundbyte will make a full-grown Admin wonder where his packets are.

Just think of all the places you could put it:

Inside a computer case
Hidden in a stack of papers
Under the seat of a car
Shoved deep in a pocket of someone’s purse or Notebook case
Under the teacher’s desk!

Ok, that last one may not be a great idea, but hey. It’s up to you who to annoy, and where you do it!

#1 The most awesome sound doesn’t convey during recordings because it’s too high-pitched (hence the annoying part). It’s too high pitched for most audio recordings – but is piercing in real life..
#2 Perhaps most importantly, it has a built-in rare-earth magnet. So you can stick it places. Which makes it far more devious. You can stick it to the underside of a desk, into an air vent, etc. That’s one of the main features when we developed it.

Every year, Ponzi and I discuss having a Christmas party. Every year, it turns into us sitting at home drinking Egg Nog. Well, it’s more like me drinking it, since she doesn’t even like it. I prefer my Egg Nog to have nothing added to it. Just give me egg… and nog.

I decided to send Ponzi a little reward, and make it look like I indulged in a bit more than just egg and nog. I reinstalled Vista SP1 just for this purpose. I warmed up the copy machine, dropped the back of my drawers, and made her a pretty picture!

However, it appears as though Vista SP1 may still have some issues.

This is so excellent! A friend sent me this tip on how to possibly upgrade to Vista for free! Check out the video to see how you, too, can benefit from this offer. The upgrade path seems easy enough, but check out what LifeJustIs2007 sent to me last night:

I managed to get a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate. I’ve been using it for quite a while, went back to XP for a little bit and now I’m back to Vista Ultimate again to give it one last chance and see if maybe I’m not seeing something that I should be, which chances are I’m seeing everything there is to see about Vista….which you know is not much. I do have to say the visual effects are impressive and pretty however I agree with you 100% that this is not the most important thing to the consumer and is just a marketing scheme to get people to buy the product based on looks and not functionality. I would highly recommend that anyone considering buying Windows Vista not waste their money on Windows Vista Ultimate as the features that are included do not differ so much as the much less expensive Home Premium and Home Basic for those who don’t need Aero or the Media Center functionality.
Has Microsoft come a long way? I believe they have but I will say that your statement about Vista not being what the consumer wants and or needs is 100% true. The average consumer just wants to know that they can turn on their machine and it will just work and not have to worry about tasks just to keep Windows barely running. For the most I see no reason to upgrade to Windows Vista. Drivers haven’t seemed to be a problem for me much but I will say I have found a few glitches, luckily no BSODs. Windows Vista needs a lot of work and hopefully they have realized that. All my programs that I normally use seem to be functioning but I can see what everyone talks about with it not being worth the money to upgrade other than to impress your friends.
The next version of Windows really needs to be fresh code and they need to stop copying Apple. You can’t make the Windows world an Apple world, it just doesn’t happen! Sure you can slap on a skin with Windows Blinds or a similar product but Windows will never be Mac and Mac will never be Windows, end of story. As for my overall opinion of Vista….it’s not ready for the public, it’s really not, I think they should have worked faster and harder and not have slacked off for 6 years. The operating system is a mess and it needs to be fixed.
Now onto the next subject….Mac. I believe that Mac is doing extremely well, I’ve never owned a Mac but have had the pleasure of playing with one in one of the Apple Stores at a local mall. I think they are sleek and exactly what the average person needs. Yes they cost a lot of money but for what I see, you’re getting a damn good machine for your hard earned cash. If I had a job right now that was bringing in the dough, I’d be buying a Mac. I watched the whole demo on Apples website and I must tell you, it blows Windows Vista out of the water and I am impressed beyond belief. The simplest way I can put it, you buy a Mac and you will prevent a lot of headaches, now of course I can only base this on the hours spent in an Apple store using the Macs and testing them out but I figured I’d share what I thought. I rented a baby to crawl across the page on flickr with my childhood photographs on it. The baby can scribble to its heart’s content, and ruin the pics. Ok, so I didn’t really rent a baby. But I CAN “ruin” those pics over and over… for free!

NetDisaster.com is a blast! You don’t have to install anything, it’s all run from within your browser window. Simply enter the URL of the website you want to “destroy”, choose your method of destruction and whether you want to control it or let the computer do it… and voila! You can play around until you feel better. No one will be able to tell you were “destroying” their site, so go ahead! Scribble or drop bombs on someone’s site, it’ll make you laugh hysterically! Choose a site that you’d like to punish, or whose destruction would bring you bliss and delight, or just fun.

Ponzi’s going to be a Garbage Pail Kid!!! Yes, you all know my fascination with Garbage Pail Kids (even though I’m still mising Bonus Card B5, COLE Gate). A few weeks ago, I emailed Luis Diaz with a small request: that he create a GPK incorporating Ponzi’s two names (well, “Ponzi” is just her nickname – with Latthanapon being her birth name). You see, as I was going through ANS5, she lamented that they never have any GPKs with her name on them. I thought: “Let me see if I can commission an artist to surprise her.” Sure enough, Luis will create a GPK just for you (different options at different prices). He whipped up this sketch:

This will be made into two separate cards: Piercing PONZI and Lust-Upon LATTHANAPON. And today, did a series of watercolors for us to choose from (yes, I couldn’t hold the surprise back when the original pencil GPK sketch came in). We picked the upper far right and the lower far left – which will be arriving in traditional Garbage Pail Kids sticker dimensions soon enough. This is just too cool:

These cards will be priceless! I may ask him to go back and render a full-color version of one of ‘em to make it look like a genuine GPK. Maybe I’ll just commission another one? What about… WINER Diner, Noble SCOBLE, KEVIN Rosey, Scary ARRINGTON, RUBEL Yell, Tin CANTER, PIRILLO Armadillo, Messy MESSINA, or PONZI Screams? Those would be perfect giveaways at Gnomedex.
