UncleJohn was able to capture some Wicket and Pixie antics the other day when his new Macbook. Who knew Wicket could climb like that? I certainly never thought he would know to save himself from certain death by strangling me with his front paws.

My dogs are weird – so what? They’re also the coolest dogs on the planet.

Wicket and Pixie wanted to help me wish you a Merry Christmas.

Here, I was asked to put canned dog food on my face. I didn’t do it because we don’t buy canned dog food. As a compromise, I used peanut butter. What dog could resist?

I’m certain Pixie could smell the peanut butter from a mile away. It also doesn’t help that I said the “T-R-E-A-T” word, causing a stampede (I almost sat on Wicket, who jumped into my chair).

After smearing the peanut butter on my face, I lifted Pixie so she could lick it off. Eww. She didn’t leave much for Wicket. There was enough doggie drool on my face, I don’t think he knew what all the fuss was about. However, once Wicket caught a whiff of the tiny bit that was left, he was all over it… literally.

I think I felt peanut butter on my face for the rest of the night. Or was that lingering doggie breath?

Yuck!

Do you let your dogs eat peanut butter? Do you let them lick your face? Apparently most like it, but some are allergic so please use caution when feeding your pets human food. Tell Fido not to try this at home!

New Facial Technique: Dogs and Peanut Butter

Looks like Wicket and Pixie made it to the front of Yahoo this morning (Video tab). As soon as I heard the news, I told them – and they couldn’t look less interested in this accolade. Thanks to Daniel Kindler for tipping me off to this momentous event. Who knew that they’d make it this far, even a year later? I guess it’s a timeless classic (much like Star Wars itself).

Unfortunately, this year, we won’t be at home for Halloween – otherwise, we would all be dressing up like army brats and fighter pilots. Until then, we’ll all have to enjoy the horror on Wicket’s face – and the terror in Pixie’s eyes – as their embarassment was briefly broadcast on the Internet. I don’t think this video will ever die, and I’m quite surprised it made it this far.

My Dogs on Yahoo

It hasn’t even been a year since we first started streaming live, and we’ve already produced over 700 short-form videos – most of ‘em posted to our YouTube channel (but available just about anywhere and everywhere).

We’ve covered just about every area of technology for the casual consumer, but I’m sure there are plenty more of your tech questions to answer. We will certainly continue to create a “show” for the Internet, but I think I’m officially ready to hire a couple of my regular co-stars.

Doesn’t matter what I do; Wicket and Pixie always steal the show. I think this is the “Cute Overload” factor at play. So, expect to see more of them every day – hopefully, with some kind of offbeat tech angle to keep them firmly rooted in geekery.

Wicket and Pixie get there patience tested by two bored married people. Being forced to sit in front of a red-hot plasma television set while being teased with doggie treats and being lambasted by the chatters on IRC is no way for a dog to live. Still, Wicket and Pixie do their best!

Dogs Love IRC

I almost cried when I heard this tonight. Seriously. 60 puppies die in Mass. trailer fire:

“The puppies were all beautiful, healthy purebreds that were on their way to quality retailers in the northeast and eventually to loving New England families,” the company said in a statement. The company said it has a near-perfect safety record.

Retailers?! So help me God, if these beautiful creatures were being shipped to mall-based pet stores, I’m going to scream. Dogs die every day on the streets, in homes, at the pound, etc. – but 60 of them, en masse? That’s just so incredibly sad. The senseless loss of human life is to be equally lamented, but… puppies?! How could your heart not drop after hearing of this accident?

The Worst News You’ll Hear All Day

Ponzi and I are dog lovers, but I don’t think we’d ever stick either one of our puppies in a knapsack and motorbike ‘em around town. For one, it’s chilly today – and we wouldn’t want our pet to get sick. Plus, what if they saw something across the street and knew that barking wouldn’t suffice? I’m not sure if what this guy did was cute or stupid. No matter, I’m glad I had my camera at the ready (at least, it was in my front pocket). The only time we do anything “cute” with our dogs is around the holidays. Wicket won’t stand for wearing sweaters – or anything other than his collar, for that matter. That child was born to be wild.
