Nine Video Networks Shootout

Call it a streaming data battle royale, a video network smackdown of epic proportions – whatever. What does one do to top multimedia madness? Set the stage for Soapbox vs. YouTube vs. Break.com vs. Vimeo. vs. Jumpcut vs. Blip.tv vs. Metacafe vs. Revver vs. iFilm. That’s nine different video networks: all at once. Of course, if I was arguing with myself again, it wouldn’t be anything new. Instead – I decided to get into the holiday spirit and Jingle Bell your socks off. This time around, however, I hired a couple of assistants to help me achieve the effect I so desired.

Rinse and repeat.

If this page brings your computer to its knees, perhaps you need to upgrade to the new AMD Quad FX Platform?

Download Video Files

When I heard that Video Downloader 2.0 could enable me to download videos from sites like AnimeEpisodes.Net, Badjojo, Blastro, Bofunk, Bolt, Castpost, CollegeHumor, Current TV, Dachix, Danerd, DailySixer.com, DevilDucky, Double Agent, EVTV1, FindVideos, Hiphopdeal, Kontraband, Lulu TV, Midis.biz, Music.com, MusicVideoCodes.info, Newgrounds, NothingToxic, PcPlanets, Pixparty, PlsThx, Revver, Sharkle, SmitHappens, StreetFire, That Video Site, VideoCodes4U, VideoCodesWorld, VideoCodeZone, Vimeo and Yikers, Angry Alien, Blennus, Blip.tv, Break.com, Dailymotion, Double Agent, eVideoShare, Free Video Blog, Google Video, Grinvi, iFilm, Metacafe, MySpace, MySpace Video Code, Putfile, Totally Crap, vidiLife, vSocial, YouTube and ZippyVideos… I was thrilled. Of course, I don’t visit half of these video sites, but it’s nice to know I could download the videos if I did. They’ve got a FireFox plugin, so I figured I’d ask for a Maxthon plugin, too. Wheelie4 answered my request with an IE bookmarklet to help you save embedded video files:

[js]javascript:(function(){w=open((‘http://videodownloader.net/get/?url=’+escape(location)),’w’,’location=no,status=yes,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=800,height=400,modal=yes,dependent=yes’);setTimeout(‘w.focus()’,1000)})();[/js]
