Microsoft doesn’t bring the Bing Pong tables just anywhere, you know. We were so very lucky to have a great partner in the Bing family this year for Gnomedex. Not only did they sponsor the Will Code for Green contest, they also brought the Bing Pong room to the conference!

The tables, the paddles and the balls all glow under black lights. How freaking cool is that? It was a lot of fun, and a great way to relax and unwind during the day. Attendees could pop in there for a game any time they wanted, and many people did!

Bing Pong was definitely a huge success!

Bing Pong!

Even though I finished drawing on the paper, you cannot see it without a blacklight. I did this using invisible ink. We used to do this when we were kids, remember? How much fun is it to play with something like this? I’m talking about the SpyPen.

Write a secret message, check for counterfeit money items, or use as a flashlight–this pen does it all! This invisible ink pen lets you write messages without leaving a trace. Use the pen’s imbedded blacklight to read what you wrote. Kids love using this for writing secret notes or for diaries. College students: use this to highlight your textbooks and still be able to sell back your books. The SpyPen is a fun and useful tool for all!

If you follow along the chat that is embedded in this video, you’ll see some of the neat ideas that the chatters were throwing out there. Why not use it to write your name on something for identification purposes? I don’t recommend trying to use it to cheat on tests at school. I’m sure your instructor would notice the blacklight!
