Adam drove ‘em back to Des Moines, and Ponzi and I decided that it would be best for me to travel back to Iowa for a week to help them back onto their feet (so to speak). Mom’s only dizzy when she’s laying down (which is apparently par for the course with concussions at this stage). We’ll see an ear doctor on Monday, and Dad’s got a few more meetings with neurologists over the next couple of weeks… but they’re both expected to make a full recovery.

Dad still hasn’t looked at the photos or videos that Adam took down in KC, but I’m sure he will on his own time. Mom is starting to send them out, but they both thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Mom even felt compelled to record something on their Flip (which survived the car accident without a scratch):

Chris Pirillo

Those of you who follow me on Twitter already know that my parents were in a car accident this afternoon on their way down to see my brother’s family (Ben) in Texas. Here’s what we know about it thus far:

My dad was driving.
It was a single-car accident, potentially from a skid on gravel / over an embankment.
Mom was asleep when it happened (in the passenger seat).
Airbags deployed, while the car was totaled.
Dad believes he may have nodded / spaced off.
They were helicoptered to St. Lukes in Kansas City.
Mom has black eyes, scrapes and bruises – stitches near elbow.
Mom may have a concussion – was dizzy, nauseous this evening.
Dad has a bruised brain, bruised lungs, in ICU tonight for monitoring.
Dad’s left ear has been torn from behind, will need plastic surgery.

My brother (Adam) and our Aunt Grace both drove down to KC from Des Moines this evening to be with them over the next couple of days. There’s nothing else to report at the moment, other than to say that my parents are VERY lucky to have survived. Really, there’s little chance of it getting worse than it already is – no broken bones, but a bunch of bad bruises.

No need to send flowers or anything; my brother said it’s not even worth it for me to fly out there since he’s with ‘em. I don’t know how many of you know my parents, but – <s>they’re fine</s> they’ll be fine.<ul

There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.

Coupons for Online Shopping

This feed is fueled by Lockergnome Online Shopping and Coupon Codes
