You gotta fight for your right to party! I’ve just never been a partier. I mainly socialize on the Internet. I don’t go out a lot, nor do I host parties of my own. There are times when I do have to venture outside to meet with people. When I do, I usually use an online invitation service. For Gnomedex, we used Event Bright. It’s a great event planner when you have registration money to take in. It also has a free service. Like many of you, I’ve also used other services in the past, such as Upcoming, MeetUp and of course Evite.

A friend passed me some information the other day, though, about a different online invitation service that he thought I’d want to check out. Anyvite is so much simpler to use, when all you need to do is create an invitation.

Event creation should be simple, easy, and produce a quality result. We built Anyvite because we were tired of spending a long time creating mediocre, advertisement-filled invitations, which could only be viewed on your computer.

Anyvite is the next generation in event creation. It leverages today’s technologies (mobile, IM, SMS) and the idea that less is more, to enable people to quickly and easily invite their friends to events.

Even after the outing, we’ll keep the memories alive by giving you a place to share your pictures, videos, and comments from the event with everyone else who was there with you.

Anyvite really is simple. You don’t have to register for anything. Give your event a name, date, time and location. Then choose who you want to invite, and send them their invitation. That’s all there is to it. When all you want is to jump in and get it done, Anyvite is the service for you. I love the simplicity, and the speed/ease of creation. Kudos to the creators.
