One thing that I noticed is that after using System Restore, a number of executables were missing, specifically my Norton Ghost app. I installed a driver, which in turned caused problems. I decided to use SR to undo the changes. That didn't help, so I decided to Ghost my drive. Booting to a DOS disk, I tried to start Ghost, but the exe was gone. Figuring I had deleted it accidentally, I restored it from an archive and ghosted my drive. A couple weeks later, I tried installing some software, which gave me all sorts of problems. Using SR, I was again unable to solve the problem, so I rebooted to DOS. Again, Ghost was missing from my drives. Now this time I was sure I hadn't deleted it. I restored it and ghosted my drive. I then tried SR again as a test and sure enough Ghost disappeared, this time I checked some of the other apps I had. The ones that were zipped were untouched (which is why I was able to get Ghost back), but executable on my data drive were gone. I ran a virus scan and it showed no problems. This only happens after I run SR.

Why not just use the settings option to limit the disk space used? If you do turn it off for all drives, all restore information is deleted, reclaiming the disk space.

Me too,
I used System Restore after I lost all the Favicons in my Favorites list, all of them except the Lockergnome face.
(I know, I know, but it bummed me out, I like them). I only got back about half of them, and It seemed to be running a little "doggy" too. I write down the hard drive info regularly, I like to keep track of my resources, mindset still in old x86 days. Well, before System Restore: 2.46GB used, and 53.4 free. After I used System Restore, now it says: 2.76 GB used, and 53.1 free. (This is a brand new system). I'll be going online and buying a copy of GoBack 3.0 from Roxio. I have GoBack on my other system, and the kids have crashed that poor thing more times than I can remember. It works perfect everytime. Just my two cents. :-)
