Surviving Launch
Lessons learned today:
- People like gada.be
- People like the *idea* of gada.be – a lot
- Need more servers, need more RAM (on order!)
- Need an easier way to discover categories
- Need better front-page “adult” filters
- It's better to get hammered than be screwed
- Never, ever cross the streams
Seriously, the amount of love for gada.be have been overwhelming. Even those who can't currently get in really want to get in – if only to see if the commotion is warranted. Didn't take but a day for the first person to start improving an existing application; crankygeek has developed a FeedDemon plugin (and yes, I think we'll be switching to a 'Go' button when we enter bug-fix mode). It's onward and upward for us, and I certainly appreciate everybody's support and patience. Thank you!
You get it – you really, really get it. :)

Our corporate firewall pick up your site as porn. Is this something you fix or do I have to talk to our network group here?

Really awesome Chris. I love the clean feel and whitespace (lets me stretch out). Could Gada be locked out of Google or other web search engines if it exceeds API limitations (maximum # of daily searches allowed by Google API for instance)? I recall a 1,000 search limit per day. Please tell me you have some deal that will circumvent this.
Rock on.
