Super Bowl Commercial – Hang in There, Jack!

While watching the Super Bowl last Sunday, we learned that Jack (of Jack in the Box fame) was injured! I couldn’t keep up with what was going on, since nothing was getting posted on Twitter. Seriously, how do they expect us to know the latest important World news if they don’t tweet??
I was able to finally get updates by heading over to Hang in There Jack. In lieu of flowers, the company is requesting that all of you go out and buy Jack in the Box food! I did my part, buying and eating a Sourdough Jack.
Hang in there, Jack. All of us Geeks are pulling for you!

I don’t really know what to think of this marketing campaign. Clever? Maybe. I’m sure it will get the attention that they need. Negative attention is still attention I guess. Personally I think it’s sad that some businesses have to resort to the risk of offending others to get people to talk about them. Is it funny? Not everyone will think so . I’m sure all those people out there that lost someone to a traffic accident will love how Jack in the Box is taking a situation like that lightly. either way does it matter? I can talk about Jack in the Box commercials all day. It’s not going to make me like their food any more or less. So personally, I think this will do more harm then good as it has a better chance of offending people then anything else
