Sunrocket's Hogwash
Consumerist, Om, Andy, Steve…
- I think this is the perfect opportunity for people to complain about SunRocket and their mistakes. I, for one, didn't realize they had so many complaints against them (then again, what company doesn't).
- “Let he who hath not complained cast the first trackback,” sayeth the Blord.
- What SunRocket should do is address this head-on before the blogosphere's “lynch mob” lynches them for accusing them of inciting mob mentality. I think there's a bit of irony in there, but I'm not sure. It's kinda like what Derek Scruggs said: “Lemme get this straight – because the mainstream media complained that bloggers are whiners, you're whining about a program that encourages whining?”
- The blogosphere is bitching, anyway. I can't turn around with seeing negativity either in entries or in comments. Seriously, it can get nasty out there – so there's some truth to the “rumor” that this world of ours isn't perfect. I'm expecting a few “Chris Pirillo, you suck donkey balls” comments for this entry, too.
- Andy Beal is wise, suggesting that the contest change to “reward the positive comments, too.” I like that idea. I don't think it's too late to adjust the course of this ship, either.
- Give 'em credit for trying, folks. That's worth something. I know too many companies who don't give a rat's ass about what's happening outside of traditional media circles.
- I just learned about the Consumerist. Awesome. Subscribed. Found it a bit strange to read that they don't pay for submissions… “not because they're totally cheap and happy to exploit your pain for free.” Yet, at the bottom of the page, there are sponsored links. They're not paying out (which is wise), but they ARE generating revenue from complaints. I think what makes those complaints different is that they're not sponsored by a company, which makes sense. So, what if we could get another VoIP solution to pony up some prizes and make this a Kumbaya thing?
- Could we have some senate hearings for the judges? I can't get enough grandstanding. :)
Where do we (or I) go from here? They're likely pushing forward with the contest anyway, so why don't we give 'em a list of suggestions and let 'em come back with something that makes it a win-win situation for everybody? Or is it too late, and we're just gonna sour the taste of (and for) the blogosphere even more? Instead of accusations of being a lynch mob, why can't we ever be accused of being a group of guidance counselors? Two wrongs don't make a right.

All SunRocket(SR) Customer,
I was a SR customer, as I understand that SR played a bankruptcy game to the customer, it looks that they planned this game when they had a promotion for 199/yr plan, they rubbed the balance money on each contract from the customer, TeleBlend(TB) takes over everything from SR except contract, they just changed the company name from SR to TB.
Do you have any idea to handle this issue, it is not a small issue, it is a big, big, big, huge issue, it is related to 200,000 customers
We have to ask government to protect us to have it in fair, where is the government? where is the policeman? where is the lawyer? where is our congressman? did they know the issue or not?
