Stuff I Learned Tonight
My old college roomie (Eric Myszka) just called; right now, he's chatting it up with Gretchen. For the past few weeks, he's been freelancing in LA for a “startup” recording company. Just got done doing a gig with one of the old Beach Boys (I can't remember which one). In a few months, he'll be working alongside Monkees superstar, Mickey Dolenz. Too cool! Yeah, Eric just up and decided to reach out and touch somone tonight. He used to do that all the… nevermind. Myszka is a name you should remember, too. His movie directing skills are times better than George Lucas's. *NSYNC. I mean, really. I suppose now you're going to tell me that he put ET in The Phantom Menace!
Gretchen is still jobless as of this hour, but I may have found her a temporary position of sorts. On our way home from Ruth's Chris (which, by the way, was a dining experience worth repeating on a regular basis), Roland and I spotted what seemed to be homeless people who were waving drivers to open parking spots. This, according to Roland, pays pretty well (about a dollar per car). It's commonplace in his neighborhood, but I had never seen it before - and I live three blocks away. Quite enterprising, I must say. I could have used one of those guys a few weeks ago. Parking in San Francisco is hellish.
Dave Barry thinks that the asparagus is “the most articulate vegetable ever.” Don't ask me how he came to that conclusion. I scored the link from fellow Hotshot, Bennet Hasselton. Another link that's worth noting (especially for all you email mungers): a faux harvester. Use this simple form to test the e-mail addresses on your site (to see if they're truly safe from software scrapers). Now, that particular link came directly fromt the fingers of Tara Calishain. The buzz about her is awfully researchy - and for good reason.
