Soul Mate Blogs

A few days ago, my friend Dave Shappell (not Dave Chappelle) sent me a simple email:

Not sure if I told you how Dave McClure & I met… but it was thru an microfinance-enabling/poverty-fighting organization called Unitus – it was started by a former Microsoftie (Mike Murray), who was the same guy who was running Apple Marketing for the original Apple 1984 commercial.

Anyway, Unitus has developed a coordinated Mother’s Day/Microfinance-education campaign (formal description below), with a pretty easy premise: You can honor your mom, Ponzi or some other empowering women in your life with a tribute page on Unitus. In addition, they’re looking for folks to submit video tributes (which I thought might be right up your alley…).

So, this afternoon, I did just that – and created a Tribute page to my soul mate. This video accompanies the post:

They say that behind every smart man, there is an even smarter woman – and Ponzi is a living example of that statement. Okay, even if “they” never said that – I’m saying it now.

I consider myself lucky that my wife, Ponzi, is both a life and business partner. While we don’t always agree on direction, I can say that my entire existence (and the lives of those around me) has been enhanced by her presence.

For Ponzi, “enough” is never enough; she always goes the extra mile to make sure that everyone is comfortable in any given situation. She has an innate ability to read the room and light it up at the same time.

Before we met, my conference brand was on the brink of failure – but within one short year, Ponzi had turned it around to be one of the blogosphere’s most lauded annual events. She’s intelligent, attractive, and savvy.

go Chris! go Ponzi! w00t w00t!

you guys are just terrific… really enjoyed celebrating with you folks last december :)

Mr. Pirillo,
I agree with you, and the problem that I have found in the state where I live (maryland), that is for the most part impossible. Now do not get me wrong, I do know that there is somone out there for me, and I hope that when I find her, that she is still single. But finding that one person is the one thing that I am always looking for, but I have a feeling that I may need to go back out to Iowa where I was born.

Chris — your post and Twitter have unleashed a firestorm of comments (that sounds negative, but it’s not — is awesome!) on your Unitus tribute page — thanks again for helping with the initiative. Hope to see other video tributes show up from your ustream.tv audience!

Hi Chris. I thought your tribute was beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I just wanted to share with you that behind every good man is “sometimes” a woman and “sometimes” a good man.
I’ve been in my relationship for 15 years with my mate Larry.
We love and support each other and share all the feelings you have with Ponzi.
Thanks again Chris.
I’m a fan for life,
Charles

That’s one of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard come from your mouth and deep within your heart, my friend. We need to get together more!! My best to you, Ponzi and the “kids”.

As Always,
me

What a wonderful tribute! Ponzi is one lucky woman (as are you to have her).

Once you find your soul mate, never look back. I have been married to the most wonderful woman for almost 25 years. And I still love her dearly.

Cheers to your long life together through the ups, downs, trials, and tribulations you are going to experience. May each strengthen your love and relationship to one another.

Hey Chris, regarding soul mates. That was a great thing you did. Ponzi sounds like a true one in a million.

I had the great fortune of meeting my soul mate as a freshman in high school (c.1970) although I didn’t realize it until after high school. Luckily, or by fate (whatever you believe) she and I were marrried in 1977. As of this coming Dec. 17 we will have been married 30 years!!!!

We have been broke, better than “ok”, thru serious illness and good health. We are totally committed to each other as we are each other’s best friend.

We have a married son and a single daughter. This past Feb. our son & his wife had our first grandson!!!!.

This is what life is really all about — not the things we work so hard for and get easily attached to — the family and real friends thru everyday life.

Carry on, live long, love completely, and be there for Ponzi an honest man as I trust she will be a true woman there for you.

Take care Chris — keep up the good work.

Bravo Chris….and they had a lot of kids.

[...] As you probably know by now, from reading the few posts here so far, and seeing my blogroll, I am a fan of Chris Pirillo and his blog. This post being no exception. What a beautiful tribute to his new wife and soulmate. And they met through match.com! Makes me wonder if perhaps I should try it? I’ve always felt funny about things like that, but I have also heard many success stories, and now Chris and Ponzi can be added to that list! [...]
