Sock It To Me?
Why do all my socks have unnatural holes in them? Has my big toe been trying to liberate itself from within the confines of its cotton prison? He's the Captain of the toes, ya know. It's a conspiracy! I stubbed him two weeks ago, and he's exacting his revenge slowly. My feet have been kind enough to contribute to the 2003 stocking budget; they won't stand for this. Seams to me that the clues are unraveling at a quickened pace. Time heels all wounds, but not fabric – sew I guess I'll have to fall back into The Gap and get replacements.

I tend to have more of a problem with the socks disappearing during the washing/drying phase. Where do they go? Also, I just bought Chris' “Blog Traffic School.” It's a great resource and you all should check it out.

ya know when big toes get stubbed and pissed, they head south. which is where the (pirillo) body would be headed eventually anyhow. that is howcome they are busting through yer sox. big toes are VERY smart.

go buy some thorlo socks. they're about 10 -12 bucks a pair, but unless you got bilbo baggins feet– you ain't punching thru them.

Tell me about stubbed toes. I had too small of a snowboard boot the day after Christmas and the pressure on my big toe nail turned the whole thing black. Really ugly. Even the docs said that the nail would fall off but 6 months later it's still there, black as heck and deformed looking. Damn rental place.

Oh and one crucial tip regarding socks from the great Jeff Murdock: “I mean, where exactly do you take your socks off? My advice is to take them off right after your shoes, and before your trousers. all my socks get holes in them the first time i wear them. it scares me often and makes me sad cause i just can't stand to throw out my new toe socks or my new monkey socks!!!

Chris, talking from the experience of working at Gap on Market Street SF (the big one), those socks arne't meant to last past 2 washings. Take jim's advice and buy from fruits… :-D
