Snow in Seattle – a White Christmas!
I can’t believe I’m looking out our front window and seeing snow on the ground. Usually, it falls and melts instantly – like it did yesterday. This evening, just as Ponzi and I were headed out to do a little offline shopping, snow started to fall in Seattle. We could barely see traffic on I-90, so I knew this wasn’t the time to venture out and brave the snowy roads (and likely inexperienced California kamikazes drivers).
I couldn’t help but run out and make snow angels in the middle of the street. Can you even remember the last time you made a snow angel?! It “never” snows in Seattle. The city simply isn’t equipped to handle the load. Of course, Wicket and Pixie had a total blast in the sky powder.
I think it’s going to be a White Christmas after all (which Robert Goulet happens to be singing right now on Music Choice channel 940)!

A friend of mine that lives up there just wrote me telling me about the snow! I’m so glad I live in Arizona, it’s like early fall here. OH! And it was nice seeing you on the youtube post. I hope you start adding some segments of some sort there.

The whole nation — well, at least that part of the whole nation that watches Monday Night Football — got to watch your Seattle snow also. When I first tuned in I thought for certain the game was being played in Green Bay: I thought it only rained in Seattle. After watching the players slide around a few plays, my wife said, “That looks fun.”

Seattle got a dusting the first time I visited back in January of 2001. A week later you had that monster 6.9 earthquake. So you’d better take care!

Hm. Snow in Seattle and +11 Celcius (52 F) in Oslo, Norway. Usually we have 1 meter of snow and -10 C (14 F) in November. Not good. I miss the white stuff. I miss skiing. The slopes. I want the white winter back!

Here in Ontario Canada we would ordinarily have had some snow by now but so far we have only had rain. I would personally rather go all winter without snow anyway.
There are still 3 weeks to go until Christmas… plenty of time for your snow to melt (so don’t count on getting a white Christmas) and our snow to arrive.

That was a cool video. I like all these non-tech videos you’ve been doing. Do you have a youtube page? I would be a regular viewer.

I lucked out, and flew out of town before another heavy dusting on Monday afternoon. My sister drove me from the hills of Redmond to Seatac and when I called after landing in San Jose, CA she mentioned that if I had booked a flight later that afternoon I would have missed my flight due to heavy snow that slowed traffic to nearly a standstill!
I must add that from Sunday’s snow I was caught in an evening snowball fight with my nephew and niece. I suffered a couple of direct hits!

Seattle weather is wonderful, if you like the rain and occasional snow. Although I live in Everett. We usually see a total of about 12 inches of snow a year. Sometimes more or less. My friend who lives in Mt. Vernon sees even more.
