I got this note from Matt Steele the other day: “We want you to be our May featured personality for TechTVTechies. We have an interview and some other content that we've gathered links to, but do you have any ideas?” Sure, how about the story of how I got to TechTV? Here's a preview of what I sent him.
They just so happened to be looking for a new host around this time, as
TechLive had not yet launched, and they wanted Leo to concentrate on one
show or the other. The day after my first on-air interview, I received a
call from Dan Mitchell, then a producer on TSS. I remember the moment
vividly. I was just getting onto I-80, on my way home from Rotary Club. The
first words I heard: “How attached are you to Iowa?”
I couldn't believe my ears.
I was introduced to Paul Block, the shows' Executive Producer, and it was
looking like I was a candidate for co-hosting CFH. But before I could even
do a screen test, CFH was taken away from Paul and put into TechLive. He
called me with the disappointing news and said that he would pass my name
along to the talent coordinator. Likely story, I thought. I didn't believe
him.
Weeks later, I received a call from a talent coordinator at TechTV. The
screen test was on! I flew out to SF, did a half-hour routine the next
morning, and then flew back to DSM hours later. I wasn't expecting anything
to come from it. I passed it off as one of those “it was an honor just to be
nominated” things. Then they asked me to join the CFH team. I accepted,
wholeheartedly.

Awww… and before you knew it, you had Gnomettes from near & far simply amazed by your talent – like Chey, Robyn & myself. I know that I personally watched Friday's episode & today's episode while working tonight. It was just the inspiration I needed. Bit edgy about those Sony Memory Sticks, eh?

I've always wondered how you got to TechTV, Chris. I think your a great addition to the network. I'm a fan from the old ZDTV days, was away for awhile, and when I came back, it was TechTV and Leo wasn't on CFH anymore! “Who's this guy?” I thought. But I watched, and became a huge Pirillo fan! I'd LOVE to hear the “inside story”! You and Cat rock – HARD! Luv ya both!

You suck big time …. get a fucking life and stop cheating, lying, telling shit to every one. You only say bullshit and nonsense about technology, you don't have any real knowledge and haven't any real criteria to recommend anything, you are fucking marketing hype… you exploit peoples ignorance and only tell them what you have read somewhere else without adding any value to it or having a critical view on what you try to push because you don't have the tech knowledge to do that.
You newsletter do not have any real content besides the typical bullshit about you or your mostly unqualified opinions on anything having to do with tech.
The only thing you know how to do well is using a recompilation of sentences and paragraphs to sell air but nothing else.
P.S. Stop censuring it you bonehead.
