The ‘on-the-fence’ Win/Linux users seem to gush out the most verbal diarrhea, they act as if their opinion is gospel because they’re unbiased (as they run both Windows and Linux), yet they usually don’t have a clue. Please remember that Linux is the kernel, and that distributions include hundreds of Open Source applications that can run on both Linux and Windows. You can't compare a Linux distro with Windows. Even Ballmer compared Windows Server 2003 bugs with a years-old version of Red Hat! Really, so many of you guys don't know what you're talking about. Besides, the reason why Windows is ridiculed for bugs is due to the fact the problems are mostly in the same area, and very frequently discovered. Microsoft patches even contain bugs, even the process Microsoft uses to distribute patches is flawed! Microsoft deserves to be ridiculed, look at what you get for all the money you pay! The biggest joke is Microsoft saying that Windows will make hackers extinct!

Pretty funny, want to meet an arrogant snob? Check the owner of Slashdot. Met him at Gnomedex, though he barely wanted to waste his time with anyone. Now, he has a popular website, if he did not, he would be a disgruntled IT guy by now ;) We tried to get him to Slashdot our website because we laughed at him knowing it would have no effect on our servers and of course, he declined. As Chris said, you all are easily ignored now. Frankly, I had never read the website, because I dont care to read comments like this or forums because when you let people speak, this is what happens.
Bottom line, Slashdotters, before you call Chris names, check your own leader. Have you ever met him? Then you should not be calling others arrogant.

You fail to realize that I have never seen lockergone badgering individuals or badmouth one OS to another. All slashdot is, is a playground for the long haired, overweight and arrogant*nix dorks to bash windows everytime a bug comes out (newsflash – *nix actually has more bugs per year than windows). While I like and run both windows and some linux flavors, it bothers me to see these OS wars continue. The arrogance and holier-than-thou attitudes of the unix side is sickening. Slashdot needs to get over itself already.
As for techtv and cfh – they need to get over themselves. I don't watch leo, thank you. Its a shame because cfh and screensavers is entertaining and would be much better without the leo (arrogant) and patrick (idiot) factor. Also, they need to get rid of the ey candy – those chicks do not know what they are talking about. And kevin Rose and dan haurd? come on, like i asked before, are those guys for real? Its all about substance man. And while Chris (i agree, he was a little too hyper and a bit arrogant) had his moments, at least he brought substance to cfh.

I stop in here every once in a blue moon because just sometimes I do like Pirillo's commentary and I don't ever stop at slashdot. I do have one thing to say… POT – KETTLE. You figure out in which direction you want that label to go…
I disliked Chris ever since before CFH. He's just too hyper for TV. I have always thought of him as arrogant. He does know some interesting stuff though and I believe he deserves to be just right where he is. As for Slashdot, I don't believe Chris really has the right to complain IMHO. Lockergnome is the stuck up version of Slashdot with no real power in the industry except for Gnomedex. (whoopty do) If something get's “Slashdotted”, many servers begin to groan under the weight of the traffic. Hell, it's become WORD. Ever hear the word “Lockergnomed”? As for CFH, enough with the damn comparisons. Chris is gone from the show. Get over it all ready! If you don't like Leo, then don't watch it for gawd sakes! Every time I come here, somebody is bitching that they don't like yada yada on TechTV. BTW, Chris doesn't know everything either. I had to tip him off through email that MS had a power point player after he got several questions on CFH about how to view them!

I have to agree with Jason. While I enjoy some of the articles from time to time on slashdot, I must say the “management” of slahdot do carry a holier-than-thou attitude. They also make sure they rub in your face whenever they get a chance. Again, not very professional at all. However, I do agree with the slasdot posters original comment about replacing chris with leo laporte (uberskilled or whatvere he said). I liked Chris on call for help, and they could have at least replaced him with someon less arrogant and more skilled than Leo. Leo and Patrick are the Sponge Bob and Patrick Star of the tech world. And what is with is up with Kevin Rose? Is that guy for real? Leo, get over yourself. Slashdot – get over yourselves. Chris, keep up the good work.

Wow, slashdot sucks.
Sounds like somebody has it out for Chris and is a bit jealous of someone who did his own thing.
It's funny how you don't see successful people knocking each other like that. And for some loser to do it like this on slashdot, one of the biggest online nerdfests, explains it all, IMO.
That type of post and all the other angry, arrogant tech bigots that make that site what it is have officially made me stop going there. They can go back to configuring their sendmail and their battle to be smarter than every single other human alive… (hmm, insecure-dot? nah, doesn't roll off the tongue)

Take a deep breath and see them for what they are, immature and irrational geek wannabe's who get off on insults and put-downs. We all know more than our share of negativity addicts. A friendly word of advice you've read a hundred times. Just be careful to delineate between the minority *real* Ahole's and who are the majority innocent's caught in the bit-slinging crossfire.
