Is there nothing I can do? They want to shut down my site and I want my photos back!! isn’t there a software that can copy a website? It is my own photos and I don’t want to loose the hours of work and effort I’ve put in. Help anyone?

shutterfly sucks. I uploaded all the pictures and it won’t let me drop them where I want them. This after paying $40 for a acanvas, Shutterfly sucks big time

Shutterfly is bullshit. It does not work with proper browsers like Opera, they’ve made a corporate deal with the more bullshit browser’s owners to corporate bully you into downgrading to their bullshit browser. I won’t do it. I’d rather use a site that has not sold their soul to the devil.

I can’t believe people really use Shutterfly. I just had my first experience with it, when my friend posted all their wedding pics to the site.

1. The website is a complete mess and is very slow.
2. You CANNOT download the pictures in any fashion from the website.

Such a shame that websites like this are still around :(

There are many companies that manage to stay in business in spite of their pneumatic behavior. They simply require some advantage that keeps them in business. There’s always a market for cheap garbage. Controlling a government-enforced market has propped many a sucky business. In the case of Shutterfly, it is presenting two business faces. One — the moneymaker and one it seems to do competently — is photo processing from image files. The other — the one it does horrendously — is running a semi-social, semi-cloud site for sharing and storage of photo images.

No, chetto, they’re not running a charity. They’re hardly running their website. That part is excrement, but the profits from the photo processing both keep the whole scow afloat and convince management that they’re doing a good job at everything.

Speaking of waking up, dude, try the decaf and stop channeling Ayn Rand.

If Shutterfly really suck then y are they still in the business? Where is Yahoo now? Yeah, they are charging people for downloading photos back but that’s business. Shutterfly is not running a charity inst. That’s what a wise comapany will do to maintain stability. Nothing is free in this world- wake up!!!!

OMG, this shutterfly will not let me download my photos. Never knew abt it and I shifted to it in a hurry from yahoo! Shutterfly sucks and now I have to spend to get my own phots downloaded to my computer.

Hmm, yes Shutterfly wont allow you to dnload pics, but I figured out a way to share your pics and upload original pics.

I upload pics on Shutterfly, especially album pics, which I dont want in full size, but would like to share with my friends and relatives. Then, I upload them to my GMail account using GSpace tool in theri original size, just as a backup.

To share my creative pics (landscapes, flowers, etc), I upload them too on my Gmail account but share on my Photoposts blog at full size resolution.

Shutterfly’s “service” is for total noobs and morons who use their ISP’s email. If you are an AOL hockey mom – go ahead and use it – you can make some lovely albums. If you are anyone half decent with a computer (i.e. know how to make a new folder with a name other than “new folder,” for instance) – forget this crap and move on. It took me about 20 seconds of my life to realize that this site is crap; I can’t download photos from it and there is really no reason to waste your time signing up for such a mongoloid service. That’s 20 seconds I can’t get back. Ever. And i am sure I am going to keep getting little ‘presents’ from them in my spam email address inbox too.

Shutterfly’s customer service is generous and customer focused? Bull. You obviously work for Shutterfly.

Their site is horribly written and a pain to navigate. Then, when you have a problem, their customer service is condescending.

I wrote to them and advised of a coding error. They kept trying to blame it on me. (I’ve professionally made web sites for 13 years now.)

Then, when I wrote to them telling them I’m tired of arguing and told them to cancel my account, partially because Wal*Mart has 9¢ 4×6 prints, they sent me a link of why I should stay a customer.

The link, you ask? HOW THEY DON’T PRICE MATCH! How is that going to keep me as a customer!? They’re obviously complete idiots.
