As long as you are not divorced, there certainly is a better way to disclose that you have found a soul mate. Like so many men, you married too young, and you and Gretchen had what we call a "starter" marriage. Some of those nearest and dearest to me were married way less than 5 years & are happily remarried. I expect that if you decide to remarry, you will be happy too.
