Selling My Mind

I think I'll try this for a while and see what happens. I get asked hundreds of questions every day, anyway. I'll keep my shirt on for this one - I promise.

$27/question?? I think you should do it like google answers, where you have a minimum bid at $XX ammount. The higher bidders get their question answered first

I think Chris pockets about $25/question after the fees and stuff. :)
What about setting up a live help (via chat) and charge people to use it? Sort of like Ask Jeeves but a live 'Ask Chris'. You should trademark that.

If you can help me with my football picks this fall, I'll pay more than $27. ;-p

Very interesting idea. Curious where in the world you came up with $27. Seems like a random number instead of $25 or $30.
But, good idea on not having it free or else you'd have tons of pointless questions.

$27 for one question…..why you don't open a chat anyou can charge *** amount to use the chat for help….just a idea

i will pay $27 if he will host an episode of call for help on his webcam
:)

OK cool sounds great but why might as well round out the numbers, make $30 bucks! and does that include a house call?

I think it is a great idea. If you have a good mind you might as well use and make money off of it in the process.

I am with Adam. It should be called something else tough. Call For Help isnt original anymore. Any ideas for a name? How about NO Pants Help Day

Here's a thought:
Put together a CD of
“Pirillo Picks” and put a little info-mercial together. Sell it for $19.95(people like that number for some reason). You could advertise it on all the lame0 cable channels and clean up. You would surely beat the snot out of the “Video Professor”. You have a lot more credibility, and are a heck of a lot more entertaining.

I like it. It's unbounded. Who knows where it could lead. And that's the best part.

You better get a Canadian price on that before I send my ultimate Canadian killer spy's on your American ***. :)

??.95 sounds like a better value. I do like the idea of a Video Professor type presentation on DVD (not as stuffy, however). A visual/audio walkthrough for setting up a web site, working with Word and other popular applications, etc. Seems like a natural extension of your cultivated talents. Throw things out there and see what works.

dayum tech tv must have paid squat for him to be begging for money so soon

Here's a question:How did you get so darn cute ?!?!?

Don't worry Chris, no one can put a good man down for so long, especially if he's extremely talented.
You'll get what you truly deserve man. I'm sure of it.

You need a better picture though, It needs to have you holding your coat over your shoulder with one of your legs up on a chair. That will seal the deal with consumers.

I agree with Tammie! ^_^ What a cut background! You are crazy Chris, but I'm sure there are some people which craziest than you are, and they will pay it!:)

I 2nd the idea of Ricochet's… “I do like the idea of a Video Professor type presentation on DVD (not as stuffy, however). A visual/audio walkthrough for setting up a web site, working with Word and other popular applications, etc.” Think that might work. No one has really good help CDs out there.
And Question…Is the $27 to be an annual fee? I love the idea. Believe it should work well (besides doing some CD help) Thanks for listening & Good luck.

seen a re-run of CFH (The one with cat's web tip about cleaing the history) and Leo said “(something-blah, blah blah)..not a potato chip eating numbskull”
I've been visitin' your blog since January and I remembered that you said somethin' like you smelled like potato chips, and hearing those lines from leo makes me upset. I know its a cheap shot, and most of the threads on the CFH message boards are.

Here's the message i was talkin about…
[Stinky Bits] ~ Tue 04.29.2003 @ 01:40PM ~ [C15] ~ [T0]
I'm afraid I'll miss the FedEx guy when he comes to deliver my Tungsten C. I smell like potato chips.

He needs a job

Genius. BUT, pretty soon yer not gonna have the time to be doing it! ;-) People better ask their questions while they can!

and another thing … i think Shazery OBVIOUSLY has NO CLUE about your Hollywood meetings!

hollywood meetings?

Chris is HOT!

27 dollars a question? I'll let time decide if it's a good idea for you or not, Chris.

i dunno chirs is lookin awful thin…..anyone wanna start a pool up on when he'll starve to death waiting on takers for the ask chris a question deal?

i mean crhis not chirs lol

chris even dayum

YAHOO CHRIS YOUR A COOL GUY

Earlier, when I noticed you with your headset on, I instantly thought of Judy from Time Life Books :)

$27/Question seems like a bit too much. Now if it was $27 to ask you a bunch of questions for a day or a week then Yeah :P

tech tv has screwed us all over. I used to love getting help from chris… i could see him on the show and get answers for free, and i could go to his site and ask him personally. I THINK $27 IS A LITTLE MUCH EVEN IF IT IS A HARD QUESTION. I wish he had another sourse of income. I don't care CHRIS YOU RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it was $27 for a house call, I'd pay it ;)

Where did you come up with the charge?

I thought Chris was kidding…I know the guy is smart and all, but can't people use google and 'the web' just like Mr P???
27 or however much seems a bit much anyway, perhaps Chris is asking people to leave him alone with the Q's ah bit?

Ok, I forgot this-
http://www.protonic.com/
How can you beat a free service Chris?
Not trying to take $$ out of your mouth, but why not just have a normal paypal donation area? (Im prob. missing that, its on lockergnome right?)

Haha, dont charge money man, what is your problem. Like someone will pay u 27 bucks just to have a question answered. heres the deal, email me at randytown@msn.com and I will answer all of your questions for free.

i agree with tammie. chris you're so hot.

I think that your idea is great but $27.00 is too much (here in our country, its 1500.00). and I rather ask my question to you than Leo

HOLY ****! Someone would actually pay 27 bucks for this??? You must be getting desperate Chrissy

Who the hell is going to pay you $27 for an answer that's probably wrong, when they can still call Leo and get a free and possibly even correct answer?

Why do people feel the need to flame when they can offer constructive criticism? Besides, is this really that big ah deal?
ps, 'Disgusted'- Leo doesn't know everything

Sounds like an entrepreneurial idea to me!

$27/question?! Are you crazy?
First, Tony is now not part of the LG family (see Tony's blog re: uptime) and now you want to charge $27/question? Something's the matter here.
Someone's getting greedy…

ill do it for 26.99 per ?

I'm just really glad he's off the air waves!!!
