For Mexican restaurants, I suggest Ixtapa on Redmond Ridge. They have four or five different locations and they are all family owned and from the small town of Duvall. Great service, even better food. Or for authentic, try anything De Gallo. Always a great choice.

Tacos Guyamos in Marysville on State Ave. and 80th is the best Mexican that I found. Although If I’m not in Marysville I tend to go to Taco Del Mar…

For upmarket italian, the Asteroid Cafe in Fremont (formerly in Wallingford) is unbeatable. And for thai, look no further than Thai Tom in the university district. There about only about 25 seats, and it can’t support parties larger than approximately three, but you’re no more than a few feet from the fastest-moving stove in the city. It’s a revelation.

Guaymas Cantina in downtown (1st & Seneca) is a great place that serves decent Mexican food for lunch or dinner (and, of course, Happy Hour).. but if you want even better fare, check out Rosita's in Greenlake. Yumm!

Had dinner recently with my boyfriend at “Russell's” in Bothell. Incredible food!! The place has great atmosphere in an old restored barn that backs up to a forest. We were blown away!

Russell's in Bothell
I heard that Russell Lowell, owner of Lowell-Hunt Catering (Hunt's no longer involved), has opened a really cool place in Bothel called “Russell's”, in a two story Barn on the edge of a forest. Check it out. People say he's one of the five top chefs in the city. He also operates the restaurant at Molbak's in Woodinville.

Chris, Try El Toreador in Redmond (Leary and Cleveland)… I moved here from Texas a few years ago and its my favorite mexican food restaurant in all of washington, not the best, but different than the generic food at all the chain mexican places. Try it out sometime.

El Gaucho has a nice place in Tacoma as well. Elliott's Oyster House at pier 59 is another great place for seafood. Red Mill burgers has awesome burgers!

Med Kitchen Seattle SUCKS!! Go to the Bellevue location for a much better atmosphere, tastier food (trust me), professional staff, and a better overall value.

Got any Vegetarian restaurant suggestions? I saw the Bamboo Garden one but I'm referring to places that cook healthy good tasting, home style cooking meals. I”m not from Seattle but visit often.
