All you that are in praise of Outlook 2003, can you please tell me how to stop it freezing up for 5-10 minutes at a time numerous times during my day, especially when I return from being away from my PC for a while? Please, I don't want to quit using Outlook (there are plugins I need and use that only work with Outlook) but I can't take this frustration much longer...

Outlook 2003 cause loss of functions with MS office products if they have not been upgraded to Office 2003. Yeah MS gives you Outlook 2003 free wuth Exchange CAL's but they forgot to tell you that you gotta spend hundreds more per client to get it to work right. I have been instructed to take it off the system even though they like the new look and fell because they lose the most important thing, function

What is a PIM again? I recently just updated to the XP version of Office and its version of Outlook is pretty useful for me. Thanks for letting us know what Outlook 2K3 is all about. My best wishes that you get Outlook 2000 installed on your computer.

Colin D. Devroe said "Where does your hatred stem from? Were you beatin by a Microsoft Employee?" It's not hard to hate Microsoft's buggy software that you have to pay extortionate prices for. When the Israeli Government recently switched to Open Office instead of Microsoft Office, Microsoft said that Israel was "tight fisted"! Ha! I guess to TCO thing doesn't work out right?

Outlook's IMAP functionality is full of bugs. Both 2003 and 2000 have proven to be a major pain for our company. Exchange is the devil and I refuse to use it. The reason we have to stick with Outlook is because it is the only client that supports IMAP and is MAPI compliant.

I have Outlook 2003, and have absolutely no problems with it thus far. The UI is great, the new features work as I expect, and it's stable. That's something I can't say for most MS products. Where does your hatred stem from? Were you beatin by a Microsoft Employee?

May I humbly suggest Mozilla Thunderbird as an alternative. There are issues with it, occasionally have to send an email twice to get it to send, or it will sometimes hide an email from me but those are few and far between. I think it is a viable competition to Outlook or OE.
