http://live.pirillo.com/ - RathofMac is a regular visitor to our chat room at live.pirillo.com. He is wondering what free software is out there for screen capturing. And of course… he’s running Vista 64-bit.

The only freeware I know of for screen capturing is CamStudio. However, I’m being told by our chatters that it doesn’t work on Vista.

One of our sponsors is TechSmith. I know you said their Fantasia Studio didn’t work for you. Have you tried the Jing ?? It is a free download, as well. I’m being told it works on Vista, so try it out. If you have any issues with it on Vista 64-bit, email them to me and I’ll pass them along to TechSmith. Jing will do screen capture, images and record videos… and publish to the web for you. The only issue I have with it is that it only publishes to screencast.com. I can’t publish directly to YouTube. If I could, I would use Jing so much it would be crazy!
