I liked the intro of a portable version, and I also noticed that they just went the shareware route. It's an excellent, small program, but a capture program that cannot capture menus and their drop-downs is not worth paying real money for. One of the best features is that when you grab part of the screen such as a procedure from a web page or help file it stays on top so that you can use it as a reference.
