Scoble Asks for Partial RSS!

Well, not specifically - but read what he's wisely ranting about:

Even more troubling? I keep seeing my posts reposted all over the place on other blogs without attribution. Often on blogs that are trying to make a little money from Google advertising and/or are mixing my content in with links to their own sites to try to spam Google and MSN and Yahoo’s search engines into thinking their pages are more important than they really are.

Heh. Yeah. That's what happens when you give 'em full RSS feeds, dude. Can't have it both ways, and I think you're finally seeing the frustration that many of us realized well over a year ago. I told you that full RSS feeds are idealistic, and that partial feeds are the easiest way to protect yourself from scraping and whatnot. The blogosphere is being used because some of us allow it to be used. You don't like what I have to say, and you don't like partial RSS feeds - but that's exactly what you're asking for, indirectly and completely. Love ya, but it seems I'm winning this argument. ;)

Private Domain Registration from GoDaddy is a smart thing to do. When you register a domain, your contact information is immediately made available to anyone who wants to see it. Plus, as a listener of The Chris Pirillo Show, enter code CHRIS2 when you check out, and save an additional $5 off any order of $30 or more. Get your piece of the internet at GoDaddy!

Am I frustrated? No. At least not enough to want partial text feeds. Sorry dude.

And partial feeds make it harder for a program to retrieve the full item? Uh.. it doesn't. Once your rss feed includes links to the original document, it doesn't take a fraction of a second longer to retrieve the item… in other words partial feeds only provide a false sense of ownership.

I think that may be a staw-man argument when applied to full feeds. Anyone with any talent at all can write Perl to screenscrape your HTML _almost_ as easily as I can retreive your XML.
I think it would be better to hit them in the wallets and notify Google (or who ever is providing their Ads).
