Sabayon Linux
http://live.pirillo.com/ – Beryl is, by far, one of the best 3D desktop managers, period. Of course, setting up and configuring Beryl can be somewhat complicated. Thankfully, there's Sabayon Linux, a free Live CD distribution of Linux.
As a Live CD distribution, Sabayon never touches your hard drive so you don't have to worry about losing data, hard drive formatting, and other issues that come about from switching operating systems. Of course, you could always install Sabayon on your machine and not worry about booting from a CD.
What's really cool about Sabayon is that it comes with all of the drivers and software installed and configured so you don't have to mess around with any configuration files to get the beautiful Beryl desktop to work.
What is your favorite desktop manager?

In your show you mention that there is no comparison in windoze and I have to agree with you but I do want to show you this.

I’m a Sabayon user/lover but my wife has to have windows around still yet, so we keep that on her lappy.. she likes it so I figured I would drop the link for the windows users.

Hi Chris,
I’m not quite sure if this is where i’m supposed to ask questions, but here goes. I recently downloaded the latest Sabayon from their website, and the installation process isn’t quite going the way i hoped. It initially seems to be going well, but then “hangs” at 34%. I have tried many times with the same result. Online search on the installation process reveals that during the download of the file packets can get “lost”. My copy seems to be ok and i was wondering whether or not there are any known issues concerning this or if the installation process takes unusually longer when installing certain programs. Partition magic is installed and it suggests that linux swap shouldn’t be on the same harddrive as the os itself, but the automatic Sabayon’s installation does place them within the same partition. Other concerns are the placement of the linux partiton(before or after xp), the minimun size etc. I currently run xp and have 1.5gb of ddr2 ram, a intel d930 processor(i’m no quite sure if u need to know any of this to answer my questions), i assume that the hardware is compatible. Thanks for your time.
