I think it's mostly just a fad and will go the way of pet rocks. Well, not a good comparison but you know what I mean? ;p Yea, I dont think they will be around long. Just my feeling; that it'll just be a novelty. Save your money and get that christmas present I mentioned for your wife and you. ;)

Not at all. It's a great invention and most of us love innovation and cool new toys. This one just happens to be rather spendy.

I'd love one. But for the price of a Segway I can get a year's worth of University education, which in my mind is a wiser investment. Though being able to go to lectures on a Segway would be really cool…

I just think that it's real stupid, poeple just want to make up excuses for anything these days might as well ban skateboarding, paperboys on bycicles, rollerblades, and i can go on and on i'm pretty sure if you just snap a seat on a segway and those people would be riding them as well……… oh! i almost forgot it sure is a very cool invention and like Albert Einstein said there are only two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity. And we all know where the people that complain about the segway stand.

It's not silly to WANT one, it's silly to BUY one.
One thing I found silly, is everytime I went to talk to one of those schmucky salespeople at COMDEX the guy kept going on and on without pausing…

Worry no more. It's something we've talked about in the past.

Jake, Jake, Jake… You're making my job harder here… http://www.segway.com – Chris, don't listen to Jake, he really wants one, it's just that he wants one so bad that his brain is blocking out the fact of their existance due to the pain of NOT having one!

I'd like to try one but I don't think I would ever #1 buy one or #2 use one on a regular basis.

Well, if you're going to run over people, might let Tim Allen re-wire it for ya. Then it might make it more fun..lol. Sorry, I am evil tonight. – Grady

I suppose it depends on what you're going to do with it.

I'm wondering if there'll be extreme Segway sports. Segway base jumping. Suped up Segway racing. Segway boxing or Segway lacrosse.

I waited in line long enough at Comdex to ride one because I really, really, really wanted one too. That cured me. It was worth the ride (and very kewl), mind you, but once you get the hang of it, it's just an electric scooter and the luster wears off.
This predates you (or dates me), but it reminded me of getting on a Bongo Board.

They are pretty cool. But, with any fad, the price will eventually go down, as the fad dies. That's the best time to buy one. :-) Do what Lisa said! ;-)

When putting together a Christmas wish list, the coolness factor simply cannot be ignored!

Your all stupid. If you want to get one, think it over and just buy it. If you have a good succsesful life $2,000-$3,000 is NOTHING. And if that is stretching your spending funds, then dont even consider it untill you can afford it! Its not that hard… either your going to buy one, or your not!
