I'm new to the whole RSS craze, but my site is syndicated through Movable Type so I haven't had to code anything. I'm sorry to know that it isn't seamless.

Speaking of XML, it would be sooooo wonderful if yours was upgraded to the 2.0 templates that DiveIntoMark offers – so we can follow links in the readers instead of adding to your bandwidth by hitting your site over & over again just to get the links for other sites… *sigh*

Back in 1993, I wrote up an idea concerning virtual newsgroups (on the user level)… the idea occurred to me because there was such a proliferation of newsgroups to subscribe to..
Fast forwarding to now, I have a concern that Topics or using any one master list of Categories isn't going to cut it on a large scale.. everyone has a slightly different idea of how to organize things.
Is there such a thing as “self organizing categories from keywords”? See the post on my site (JavaJoint.com) “Topics, Categories, Keywords, and Konfusion”

I've been swapping aggregators a bit and its always a bit of a gamble as to whether it will import the OPML properly or not. Annoying!

Hi there,
Just following up on what Scott said, ENT is definitely a way to categorize your feed at the *item* level. I.e. you attach topics to an item so that it can be separated from the feed.
However in relation to what Chris was talking about, one of the side-effects of the widespread use of ENT would be that you could categorize you subscription list automatically by analysing the topics used (long term) by each feed.
