Renting DVDs

I just heard that Blockbuster Plans to End Late Fees in 2005. I just might start using my account again. Actually, since I can't seem to find a video rental store anywhere near us, we're likely to stick with Netflix for the foreseeable future. I've been renting DVDs for a few years, but these days it's almost not worth it. For 2/3 more, you can own the DVDs. Might as well! Hell, use a “backup program” and you can “own” them for the same amount. Renting DVDs is going to go away, it's just a matter of time. Impluse buyers are moving to 'On Demand' for good reason – it makes a lot more sense, and it's a lot more convenient (with no in-store arguments). A DVD rental subscription may make a great gift for someone else, but count me out next year.
