I recently met Thomas Madsen-Mygdal for the first time. He is the host of the Reboot Conference, held in Denmark. reboot is the European meet up for the practical visionaries who are building tomorrow one little step at a time, using new models for creation and organization in a world where the only entry barrier is passion.
Sadly, I couldn’t convince him to tell the World what it is he’s up to at this time. He isn’t able to share with us quite yet. He did tell us all about himself so that we could all get to know him a bit better. He’s an entrepreneur, of course, as well as an activist. Not only does he do Reboot, he also has a few different web properties, including 23 Photo Sharing. With 23 you can organise the photos, share them with anyone you want, and you can even order real prints of your digital photos. You can upload 30 photos per month for free. If you choose to buy a membership for only $25.00 per year, you can upload an unlimited number of them!
Thomas says that he got started in the world of Technology by just playing around with his Mac constantly. Like the rest of us Geeks, the more he learned – the more he wanted to keep learning. He started out doing consulting work, and he’s younger than I am by a couple of years! Thomas says it’s “been a wild ride” since he started out, and that he still loves what he’s doing.
Thomas can be found on Twitter, as most of us are. His handle is the last part of his name – Mygdal. He’s just coming off of a US research tour, and it has landed him here in Seattle! He’s been to New York, Boston, and San Fransisco. I got to play taxi driver, and showed him around Seattle – including a trip out to Microsoft!
I’m glad that I had a chance to meet Thomas and spend some time getting to know him. Who knows – maybe I’ll get to attend his conference in June! Make sure all of you are following him, and keeping track of what’s going on in his World. Thomas has good things in store!
