"I will be upgrading to 2007 in the near future." Considering 2007 an upgrade is debatable... I installed it on a new machine for my mom last month, and I personally think 2003 is/was the best version.I'm not a Microsoft hater :) I still think XP is the best OS for most applications. I'm no longer in the IT business but I am a certified geek and have 11 computers at home (30+ cores) and other than my Mac and 1 dedicated Linux box they all run XP as their host OS.

@James
http://chris.pirillo.com/2007/12/27/reasons-i-use-outlook/#comment-575498

I used Outlook for years and always considered it the standard by which other options were judged against. I was comfortable with the interface and however always was amazed at how much of a resource hog it was and continually getting worse.About 18 months ago I setup a gmail account to play with. Haven't used or missed Outlook in 16 months. I will admit the gmail interface is clunky but the ability to search ALL my email (probably over 100,000 messages) INSTANTLY is what "sold" me on this FREE solution ;)Now that the Google Calendar is integrated into gmail the growing Google suite has surpassed the functionality of Outlook and offers cool features like "understanding" my email i.e. asks me if it should add "lunch with Grandma @ noon on the 27th" to my calendar and of course adds driving directions to the Calendar entries automatically to the invites I get for my kids' birthday parties. The TXT messages I get reminding me to get a present a week before the parties also have saved me from using the "I can't believe I left the birthday gift on the entrance table" line. (now it's true when I say it ....lol)The shared calendar features are very robust and mobile integration actually keep me fairly organized.With the exception of the UI personalization I find Google does EVERYTHING better than the items in Lisa's list.AND maybe I'm missing something but... "[opening Outlook] is much faster to get into your email using Outlook, than it is having to open a browser and log into a webmail client. All you have to do for Outlook is double-click the icon on your desktop, and it’s all right there." ..huh??
-A shortcut to gmail is about as fast as it gets.... other than clicking a tab in an already open browser.One last quick point... I'd rather rely on Google's IT department than 99% of any other company's... oh and it's installed on EVERY computer.

I used Outlook for years and always considered it the standard by which other options were judged against.
