Just because I use a piece of software on my computer doesn't mean you have to use it on yours. Indeed, you may use something completely different to finish the same tasks. Why? Because it's your computer! I'm trying to settle a bet with my wife Gretchen. She thinks that more people are using Netscape. I think more people are using Internet Explorer. Of course, my dog Sprocket thinks that more are using Opera. We're losing sleep over this, folks. Can you tell me what your favorite / default Web browser is, and why?
GoDaddy Web hosting plans are now more powerful than ever. Best of all, their plans start at just $3.95/month! Mozilla! And since it's using the Gecko layout engine — same as Netscape — Gretchen gets my vote.

IE because its faster, webpages look better in it, and I love Microsoft. I don't care if people think they have a monopoly.

OK, I'll admit it. IE is my favorite even if Microshaft “forced” it on me. Opera is a close second. Netscape? Is that piece of crap still being used anywhere?

IE. it supports more, screw up less, and is just generally WAY better than netscape.

IE 6 only because everything works. Opera 6 is next inline, only problem with it are the plug-ins you have to download manually.

I still try to avoid software that isn't Lockergnome approved, but whatever you say. :) IE is my browser of choice, although I keep Netscape around for test purposes.

IE, for many years. And according to my site stats, about 80% of my visitors come in using IE also. Like everyone else, I keep Opera & Netscape around for testing purposes.

(On a side note: TimeWarner has revealed to me where my TechTV was hidden at, and soon I will find out if they were right. If I am never heard from again it's because I am sitting mesmerized in front of the TV.)

IE just because Netscape hoses most HTML, but hopefully I'll have Opera on my new iBook soon *flashing puppy dog eyes at Todd*…

I've got a lot of stats on this. Truth is, over 83% of web users are using some variation of IE, either the various versions of AOL or current and previous versions of IE. Only 12% are using Netscape. The remainder are using Opera and other browsers with less market placement.
These are the statistics on my servers. May be different elsewhere.

IE Hands down. Better display of everything because it follows set standards, not the deviant demands of AOL/Time Warner. (I have a little hostility there…)

Opera, hands down.

IE, of course. Faster, and more reliable. I found that Netscape 4.7, sometimes when you close the window before it fully loads, then the whole browser doesn't click anymore and pages doesn't load until you reboot the computer. Netscape 6 is just clunky, and really really slow.

IE at work and home, but I prefer Opera – Much faster! I gave up on Netscape 3 years ago – couldn't keep it up….uh.. I mean, it…ummm… would just hang, oh, never mind…. you know what I mean

IE Definitly!! Netscape is'nt as developed as IE. Not to mention that its also unstable and most web sites are made with internet explorer in mind!!

I was low when I said 80% – the correct stats are:
Netscape 8.22% – MSIE 91.09% – Other 0.52%
