Apparently, the change in the font was due to the last IE security patch (MS 02-23) not allowing a cascading style sheet to be applied to the organizer in Outlook. One of the Outlook MVP's was kind enough to offer a workaround, which I have used without ill effects to my computer.
(You can read the whole exchange by going to Google and doing a search for "Font Type and Size in the "Organize Inbox" pane" as a search criterion within the microsoft.public.general newsgroup.)

Thought maybe I was having memory problems of something but I guess not. I know that they had me install a security patch yesterday from windows update so it may have been something to do with that.
