Radio Silence - Almost
Dead air. Incommunicado. Don't expect to hear much from me over the next few days, as conference attendees (Gnomedexers) will be writing, talking, photographing, etc. for me: Gnomedex ~ PubSub ~ Flickr ~ NowPublic ~ Del.icio.us ~ Feedster ~ GnomedexWiki ~ Technorati. Those are all, naturally, the feeds that are tracking content. I might actually ask Lockergnome's editor (Bob!) to guest post in my absence - with my handwriting, of course. Everybody is going to be enjoying the conference and the multitude of giveaways it's bringing - and I'll be busy playing host for (pretty much) the entire weekend. Ponzi and I are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting familiar voices. Keep an eye on the keyword “Gnomedex” for the next week.
Gnomedex is a total blast, but I don't think we could do more than one of these conferences a year. Conferences can be expensive to produce properly, and we struggle to maintain a high level of quality with a lower ticket price (when compared to our closest competitors). I think the Gnomedex conference will be with us for the long haul. Convention? Maybe if there are enough cool vendors in the field. A single-track conference is more my style. Perhaps one day we'll have a Gnomedex East & West - or a Gnomedex Down Under - and a Gnomedex Canada - and a… let's just get through this Gnomedex conference in one piece, eh?
