Quitting Coffee
Dee Gordon sent me a link to Teeccino earlier this morning:
Herbal coffee is a blend of herbs, grains, fruits and nuts that are roasted, ground and brewed just like coffee. Teeccino is the first herbal coffee on the market. Dark, rich, and full-bodied, Teeccino brings you all the satisfaction of a robust brew with no caffeine reaction.
Weird. I'm tempted to order a can just to see how it stands up. I did pretty good today with my Peet's; I made “7 cups” but only drank half of the brew.

Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris…
Quitting coffee? Just one cup of Peet's a day? Say it ain't so!
Before you take the fateful plunge and try some herbal substitute (egad!), you've gotta consider some quality decafs.
Caffeine can do some strange things to ya. I went cold turkey a few years ago and my life benefitted. But I never gave up my treasured cups of joe and espresso.
The secret to great decaf is that you've got to roast your own beans. It's not as weird or expensive or difficult as some think. Heck, I've got a roast going right now as I write!
And the taste? Well, you'll never go back to someone else's roast. Right now, I'm very partial to a spectacular Ethiopian Ghimbi that blows away decaf doubters.
Coffeekid.com and coffeegeek.com will tell you much more, of course. And check out my favorite supplier of green beans–www.sweetmarias.com.

herbal roasts sound about as good as Postum –
sounds to me as if you need to get back to the mid-west a.s.a.p. Have you tried roasting dogfood for your morning brew? [LOL]
