What I started doing was to put a label around the cords so I would know what they went to. I bet I have thirty of them. There is always enough room on one connector end or the other to write a cryptic word describing what the cable is used for. Once labeled, all cables are either stored in a common cable place, or with the device with which they are used. I have no more cable torment. Since then I have only purchased devices which have <a href="http://www.usb.org/" rel="nofollow">USB</a> 4-pin standard Type A or 5-pin Mini-B connectors. While I appreciate the magnet system, I feel like I'm being taken for when I have to replace it. The high cost is actually driving me to second-hand sellers on eBay.
