Popcorn!
I've officially eaten my weight in popcorn tonight. No microwave was used, though. Ponzi cooked it on the stove with special popcorn oil. I think we used a pinch of regular salt, but it was enough. Popcorn is one of those things that you just gotta have every once in a while – and if you already snack on it regularly, try it fresh. That is, the popcorn that doesn't come in a bag. You'll be surprised what a difference the classic method makes in the popcorn's flavor. I like my popcorn in three minutes or less, but would much rather stretch the wait time a few more seconds for something that tastes infinitely better. It's getting close to impossible to buy popcorn off the shelf without hydrogenated oil, so we're kinda forced to doing popcorn this way. Again, I'm not complaining – I've got popcorn coming out of my ears. Or, its ears?

Must have been a popcorn kind of night. I had some for the first time in months too except it was the microwaved kind. Haven't had the old fashioned oil-in-a-pan for a while but will have to try it soon.

Chris, you should surf to find yourself one of those old air poppers! Those use no oil (as I remember). What the heck was that thing called?? A cream colored cylinder, a yellowish orange plastic cover and popcorn guide, turn it on and it spins the popcorn seeds around until they burst…was it the air popper??

Ummmm popcorn. One of my favorite snacks. Do they make the jiffypop thingies anymore??????
My mom always made her popcorn in a cast iron pot…that made awesome popcorn. A far cry from microwave corn..but that will do in a pinch for me. I am techie..not domestic.

Chris, you can have popcorn in just 2 minutes without all that crap in store bought microwave popcorn. Just put a quarter cup of popcorn in a brown lunch bag with a few tablespoons of oil. I use olive oil but use what you like. Close the bag and shake lightly. Microwave for about a minute and a half to two minutes. It takes some practice to get it just right depending on your oven.Great popcorn, fast, and you know just what's in it.

Popcorn is one my all time favorite comfort foods. I also prefer it popped fresh on the stove, but I've been known to eat an entire bag of microwave popcorn in lieu of a meal.
