Ponzi & Pirillo
Okay, Ponzi and I are officially doing a daily video podcast. Look for the site to be up soon (which will likely be a subdomain of the infamous pirillo.com). You can look forward to daily arguments… someone else's arguments… that often hit too close to home.

Are you morphing into the Lucy and Desi of the techworld?
Chris: “PONZEEEEEEEE!!!! Why did you buy so many shoes?!! That's it! I'm putting you on a budget!”
Ponzi: “WAAHHHHHH!!!”
Seen on a later episode….
Ponzi: “Janet, I'm going to fix Chris next-time he doesn't do the dishes or
wears poopy-underwear…. just you wait, I'll fix him! This time he will have to let me sing at Club Baba-loo!

Hmm. It's like reality TV without the TV.

Great idea! But, I implore you… please don't make it iPod only! Please please put out Divx or Xvid or even WMV codec formats for those of use who have portable media players that are not iPod.
I have a Zen Vision myself.
Thanks!

Chris, if you're going to choose ONE format, I'd recommend:
MPEG-4 Simple Profile (SP), 320×240, 29.97 fps or 15 fps, 384 kbps or QB4, two-pass encoding, audio at 96kbps (stereo), file named with a .MP4 extension.
That format will happily play on just about every modern device without re-encoding: the PSP (yay!), 5th generation iPod, Creative Zen Vision and other PMPs, iPAQ/Axim Pocket PCs, and of course a PC with any of a least 10 different MPEG-4 software players.
MPEG-4 is an open standard. Please don't confine it to .WMV even if they are sponsoring you as that format is often hard to re-convert, has spotty playback performance on non-Windows devices, and is sometimes avoided by certain aggregators and search engines.
Would hate to miss Ponzi's pouts and Chris's eye-rolls!

I am TOTALLY looking forward to these video casts. The more Ponzi the better!!! :-)
I'm on my iBook most of the time, so I would appreciate seeing a QT podcast. The HD videos in QT7 are so pretty

I agree. Don't use proprietary video formats. Use open standards such as MPEG-4. Higher resolutions such as 480×480 is ok – will look better on both PSP and 5Gen iPod and I am sure it will look better if projected from a DLP (yay!).
