hey chris
i was going to build myself a htpc
but im trying to decide between windows XP MCE SP2 and just get the MCE remote for control or windows XP PRO and buy the I/O Gear GME422RW6 phaser 3 in 1 mouse and control it from my theater room
im going to use the HTPC for some surfing via wifi network and Blue-ray/DVD playback and some photo editing
ive checked on Windows Vista and i get less problems as far as hardware issues and price if went with XP MCE or XP PRO
which is the better route to take?
thanks

"Anybody who says "this stuff" is simple oughta be drug out into the middle of the street and shot."

Wow, that sounds like something that I might say...lol. I agree with you Chris and I am actively doing something about it where I can. ;o)

I'd say it's not simple - but it could be. Unfortunately the content industries (represented in the US by the RIAA and MPAA) don't get it. Instead of a great opportunity, they saw digital music as something to fear. DRM gives them a means of control. But they're too afraid to give consumers what they want.
They're afraid that what consumers want is for them to become obsolete.
